First was Chaos Wars...
Then came XEdge...

And finally, this? There's a lot of crossover games lately... but any game featuring Shana is more than welcome in my game selection.
Too bad I have a feeling that this game will never get ported Stateside.

It's a sign of the times. Publishers aren't confident in their ability to sell games, so there's a push or two for some fan service products.

Cross of Venus

Quote:
Dengeki Gakuen RPG: Cross of Venus (電撃学園RPG Cross of Venus ?) is a Japanese action role-playing video game developed by Pegasus Japan and published by ASCII Media Works for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console,[1] and was first released in Japan on March 19, 2009 in limited and regular editions.[2] The game was produced in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of ASCII Media Works' light novel imprint Dengeki Bunko.[3] The player assumes the role of an unnamed protagonist attending Dengeki Academy who stumbles into a fight between heroines from Dengeki Bunko novel worlds and the evil organization Zetsumu. The reality-based world of Dengeki Academy and the novel worlds have become connected and the player is able to help the Dengeki Bunko heroines fight the Zetsumu by going between the worlds. Eight heroines are presented including Shana from Shakugan no Shana, Kino from Kino's Journey, and Kana Iriya from Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu. Each heroine fights with her own unique style of weapon, combos, and special attacks. The protagonist is designed by Kouhaku Kuroboshi, and his childhood friend Kizuna Kasugai is designed by Noizi Ito.

I assume the majority of people here can't understand eleven or read their crazy moon symbols.
Sooooooo.....anyone heard of any plans for an English patch?

How about using the magic button that is called "search" first?

Disregard your purpose, calling Japanese people eleven is kinda impolite, don't you think?

Ehhh, this game is pretty easy to figure out. You don't need a walkthrough or translation patch to play.

Except on certain stages like inputting japanaese katakana's as passwords for 3 doors.
And there are stages where you have no clue where you should be going without knowing japanese like the 2nd Nogizaka Haruka's stage.

Well the levels are not too big and are quite linear, just press everything and eventually something will happen.

Well, considering that Iriya is in it, I'll say this game rocks. Iriya no Sora needs more love.

Also, notice that Nonaka Ai (Iriya) and Kitamura Eri (female OC) both did voicing in Toradora.

I would actually be interested in the sales data for Cross-over games.

http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.p...993&region=All
VGChartz says 19,047 sold, first week. Those are fairly ordinary numbers. Its right where it should be for a niche game.

I wouldn't support this game. I don't feel cross-over games are a healthy thing for an already stale genre. But here I am guessing. I really want to know the state of the niche games industry right now, especially those that target the otaku demographic.

Personally, I feel that crossover games need a lot of planning. It is very difficult to keep characters "in character" in crossovers. The overarching storyline has to be something, and of course, you must like the various character interactions and in-jokes.

For this game, the highlight is probably Taiga doing her (in)famous kicks and uppercut.
