It was euro 2004. They played a defensive style of football, so didn't really like how they played. I'd rather had another team win it. D:
We Oranges are in group E. With Denmark, Japan & Cameroon. Pretty much a normal group to be in. D: Cameroon giving the most challenge I think. I hope we'll develop a lot over the year. Since we look pretty meh right now, both defensively and offensively. Atleast South Africa is cold and they speak Dutch!(ok they speak Afrikaans, it's almost the same). xD |

Interesting draw for the Champions League...
Beckham to return to Old Trafford, Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge, and Benzema to face his old club! EDIT (20/12/2009): YEAH BABY! WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD! 6 TROPHIES IN A SINGLE YEAR! Last edited by boggart; 2009-12-19 at 21:53. Reason: CWC results |

You have to understand that Messi left the country when he was a kid and never played in Argentina, so a lot of people only know about him what they hear on the news. Because of that there's a feeling that he has to prove himself every time he plays for Argentina, add to it all the praise he gets from the international press and you have some extremely unrealistic expectations. |

I think the problem that the Argentinean press are saying is that Messi doesn't replicate his club success with the national team. That's just utter crap, and without Messi, I doubt Argentina would have qualified for the World Cup at all. I know I'm putting a lot of onus on the guy, but he is one of the key cogs of the national side after all.

No, he isn't. As far as the national team goes, Messi is completely disposable, same as any other player. I watched every game of the qualifying and he was never above average.
Before every match everyone was expecting him to play somewhat close to how he does it in Barcelona, but it never happened. I'm not blaming Messi for the team's terrible form, but let's not give him credit he doesn't deserve. He was consistently mediocre during the whole qualifyings much like everyone else. As I said before, Messi didn't play in Argentina so as far as the regular football fan is concerned, he still has to prove himself. Others who played just as bad are given a lot more leniency because they were stars here. |

wow this thread is dead......
let me bump this one mods has anyone here follow Serie A ? wow its suprising zac still borrow the ferrara bad habit, use the weird fomation and strategy and unthinkable substitution which not working for them with roma and palermo keep winning it will really hard for them to achieve the UCL ticket if they can't get up soon. And for my fave team itself AC milan, i don't hope from scudetto anymore after loses from Inter, but still hope we can go far on UCL And for the BPL comment, wow Wayne Rooney sure is the MONSTER at the moment.

At least he still got his.. I kinda lost mine every single time
Still I wouldnt want any change to the current way of us doing it.. It wouldnt be far from total domination. Mark my word. Anyway, its elimination round over 2 leg for CL .. And Arsenal will rise high no problem.. Just need some teams to kill Looney and Dogba for us

On the side note China won the East Asia Football something, a tournament so small that no one really gives a damn usually. Now the problem is that China conceded zero goals... seriously wtf if Korea or Japan can't score against China how the hell are they going to score against team like Greece and Denmark. At this rate Asian teams are going have another abysmal tournament.
