Fortnite (by Epic Games)
Website
https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/home Platforms PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, PC and Mac. Size of Game A little over 14GB (PC) Server Locations Americas, Asia, Europe ○ AU (Sydney) datacenter can be accessed via Americas General Outline • Up to 4 player co-op PvE hybrid tower defense/survival game. ○ Paid "Early Access" goes live 25th July 2017, becomes "free-to-play" sometime 2018 Basic Concept • Gather resources within randomly generated maps (with seeded assets) • Use these resources to create weaponry (ie. guns, explosives) and base defenses (buildings, traps) to help you complete map objectives • Survive wave after wave of 'husks' (zombies) until mission map objectives achieved ○ Crafted things have 'durability' and will vanish/expire/be destroyed after a certain amount of uses/hits (which feeds into the survival game aspect) ○ Structures (buildings) can be used to funnel the mobs, or otherwise deny their pathing (after which they'll attack) like all standard tower defense games. Progression Information • There are 4 hero/class archtypes, specialized in certain types of gameplay • Each of these then also specialize into sub-types within the archtype • Each specialised sub-type is represented by a unique hero/unit • The hero's are obtained via RNG drops • You level the heroes with exp • Exp is obtained by playing/completing missions of appropriate difficulty • The 'easier' a map is (relative to your heroes level) the less exp you will gain Talent/Skill Trees • Once you've unlocked the ability to select a talent/skill, do so for some sort of benefit • Apparently no way to 'reset' talents/skills (so choose wisely) • No 'cap' on talents/skills, just requires enough progression/leveling Equipment Information • Equipment is crafted from schematics, or found prefabricated • If you have a schematic (blueprints) you can continue to make an item indefinitely (assuming you have the materials) • Schematics can be upgraded (weapon x level 1, level 2, etc) and the material costs associated with the schematic will change accordingly • The raw materials for different levels of a schematic may be different Spoiler for Heroes:

There seems (on reddit) to be a bunch of people who are upset about the costs associated with the early access packs and the content within, despite the fact that no-one is holding a gun to their head. |

Finally got to the 2nd area, Plankton. Make sure you know what main hero to invest in as well as weapons, survivors, as well as research and skills. I'm glad I took a passive approach when leveling stuff. The grind is gonna start getting real. But it's a fun grind nonetheless. I'm seriously tempted dropping $$$$ to buy the super deluxe pack. Right now I've been running on the standard deluxe but I really could use those extra packs and the legendary heroes...lol

I'm going to collate schematics people may have into the first post (in-case anyone wants to share the craft able goods).
If you have a schematic you think would be of value/interest to someone else post a screenshot of it below (show what the item is, crafting mats and stats)

Tips:
- in general if you're running a squad, keep track of what materials you have so you don't necessarily waste time looting the entire mission - when I play with randoms, I mostly just loot lol, but I do help with the defense - once you are in the Plankton zone, don't neglect going to your Storm Shield base to put defenses because it gets pretty tough - Duck Tape and Nuts and Bolts are used for most crafted items, but are easy to come by if you know what to loot - most metal-like objects give Nuts and Bolts as well as Rusty Mechanical Parts such as: sinks, toilets, stoves/ovens, refrigerators, soda machines, electrical appliances/objects (generators, A/C vents on the roof, breaker boxes), fire hydrants, cars - it's wise to play an Outlander if this hero is not your main already. Their special ability, Keen Sense, allows you to see auras of lootable objects that have green, rare, epic, or legendary items in it. - once you hit the 2nd zone, Plankton, mobs get a bit tougher and weapons of higher tier require Silver Ore which is a bit tough to come by. So, make sure you always pick missions that have Silver Ore as a reward. You may find Silver Ore veins if you're lucky to come across the mines. Also, wait for discounted Llama loot boxes with specific drops (People, Traps, etc). It's not worth using your V Bucks on a standard Llama box. Daily quests are how you get free V-Bucks, but if you happen to help other randoms finish their daily quest on a mission you will receive the V-Bucks as well. Helping other people and friends finish their personal Storm Shield Defense should also yield V-Bucks if I remember correctly.

An Epic (or higher) Pathfinder Jess (Outlander) is the single most valuable hero in the game. If you get one you should do everything within your power to level it immediately to at least level 25 (as priority, above all else).
+ She gets better lama's (50% more resources, double ore drops) + Until they 'nerf' the Repair the shelter missions you can use her to max out all of your resources and gain an absolutely stupid number of nuts and bolts + She can 'solo' lama's, meaning you can reliable farm copper/silver/malachite/... ore

In a recent patch they've made the pain mastery buff (from assassination hits, +crit chance for a total of +15% crit chance) also work with swords/axes/scythes. What this means is that weapon switching in many cases can increase a Ninja's damage output. It's a pain to micro-manage (especially if you don't have long-sassin) but if you want to max your damage output it's something you may want to consider.
