EDIT: Nevermind. I found what I was looking for. Apparently it is also called "Love Collage" (without the "&"). Thanks for trying to help.

I just read the first volume of the manga today, and I must say it looks pretty good. The similarities to Love Hina are obvious (even down to the individial characters) but it seems to have enough originality to it to make it worth reading. I'll have to check out some more volumes this week.

I find it quite different from Love Hina. This one is done by the same mangaka as Midori no Hibi, which has an equally off-the-wall premise, but both are very good in terms of character development and interaction. I personally would rate these over Love Hina.

I rather liked Love Hina (moreso the manga than the anime) but I'll admit it's not the most... sophisticated story around. Even after just one volume, I think I can see why you would rate this manga as better. I've seen the anime of Midori no Hibi and it's one of my favorites, so that makes me even more interested in reading more of the Ai Kora manga.

Still, quality of the writing aside, the similarities are obvious:

How Love Hina = Ai Kora

Girls boarding house w/one male resident = Girls dorm w/one male resident
Keitarō Urashima who gets beat up by the girls = Hachibe Maeda who gets beat up by the girls
Naru Narusegawa the tsundere = Sakurako Tenmaku the tsundere
Shinobu Maehara the shy girl = Yukari Tsukino the shy girl
Motoko Aoyama the samurai girl = Kirino Ootori the ninja girl
Mitsune Konno the party girl = Tsubame Ameyagi the party girl

Certainly there are differenced too, in both the characters and the storyline, but the impression that it was modeled on Love Hina seems inescapable.

i am a huge akamatsu/love hina/negima/anything else he puts out fanboy, that aside despite the similarities and differences i think Ai Kora brings something of its own to the table if for no other reason than the character of the intrepid hero.

Although I like this manga and find it very funny I just wish there was a bit more romance in the manga.

Yeah it's getting repetitive by now. A little more development would be nice. I really don't want to lose this series by dragginess.

i couldnt find any translation pass chp 57 but chapter 61 is translated, seems like the series might move forward after this chapter, hope the romance picks up from this.....chapter 62 please

the group that is doing ai kora had a meltdown a few months back maybe they had another i can't say for sure , i won't say who they are or where to find them because one of the books they do is liscensed but i will suggest you seek out thier web page for more info on what they are up to. a good website for info on what is going on about any manga or scanlation group is baka manga so maybe you could search for that.
