Spoiler for How it happend in the VN:
I also thought this episode was awesome. At first I thought it was kinda bad for Mirage Coordinator to not be there, but they can better use it in Episode 4...this time it would have been over before it started, because as goldenslaughter it has this typical, terribly long starting passage... The only complaints would be the missing web of red...this really annoyed me, because with that it would have become clearer that Battler is in a real pich here...like that it kinda looked like he just resigned in front of the red truth. They could have at least let the words strangle him a bit, if they were already floating around him. But aside that the episode worked perfectly and did what it had to do. I'm really excited to hear what anime watchers will think about the end of Episode 3.

It's hard to judge the red web without knowing exactly what was said. The VN had redundancy with Evatrice repeating things. And a simple line like "Only Battler, Jessica and Eva are alive" would suffice without needing to list the status of all 18 people.

I just finished the episode. On the whole it was a good episode, actually. A few things that could've been better, but I understand given te time contraints.
However, I was REALLY looking forward to seeing Eva and Natsuhi cry on each other shoulders after seeing their children with the furniture. But that's just because I love my shotgun MILFS <3 Oh well.. can't have everything..

Okay, so I'm gonna make a quick review before the subs comes out.
Overall, I think this was a great episode. A bit rushed though. Some teary BeatoxBattler scenes, some trolling sprites, cute siestas, and ANGEEEE!!! First off, I want to start with the whole Evatrice vs Battler thing. I just say WTF DEEN! No red net! I am soooooo disappointed with you now. Shame! And also, DEEN really sucks at the trolling faces ^^'' Seriously, Ryukishi-san's "MadEva" sprite is so much better. The golden land scene was really pretty, and some engrishu too And... Ange made my day. When she jumped in and pwnd those goats, I swear, I let out a fangirl squee. After all, Ange is my favorite character after Evatrice Her seiyuu is so-so, could have been better, could have been worse. I'm really happy they used happiness_of_marionette as well I'm kinda disappointed that there was no Lambda threathening Beato. But the BernxAnge scene was perfect. But I'm sad they didn't use Wingless ;( And old Eva is supah creepy! I'm gonna wait with rating it until the subs comes out though. |

A non-spoiler review since the subs aren't out yet.
Would've been a good episode had they improved on the musical direction. I can wait for some particular music until Episode 4, though I wished they could've used Tsubasa here because it was Battler's CMoA. In any case, pacing was alright that sped up a bit on the last one. I'm particularly iffy about removing one particular line that Battler said (should've been somewhere between the break). Lambda gets little screentime as usual. Time constraints were the main enemy here. At least no important scene was left out. This episode gets a 8/10 from me.

OMG
This is the first time an Umineko episode has kept me hooked from the start to the end. I wasn't expecting the red web to be there at all, so I'm not disappointed. I'm sure some red truths are lacking, but it was so entertaining that I don't care right now. And the VN tracks were a plus. It had emotion and atmosphere, what lacked the most in the previous episodes. For the first time... I felt EPICNESS. Well, as you can guess, it was the episode I enjoyed the most yet. I'm not even waiting the subs, I'm already giving it a 10 before I change my mind, because I had so much fun. Yes, this review is absolutely not constructive and uniquely based on emotions. |

This episode was all over the place. But it's to be expected I guess. Red web wasn't very epic, and does DEEN hate KanonxJessica? lol They keep omitting the parts where he says he likes her xDD
Oh yeah, and there's something wrong with this scene...lol Spoiler for image:
