But Omikujis are not in cookies usually, they are mainly sold at Shrine. Japanese people buy Omikuji at 1st January to know the fortune of coming year.

- So, the setting being a "post-global decline future" is confirmed. The miraculous technology of the past modern era can't be replicated, and environmental problems have killed off all life in the oceans.
- 05:50: Old lady Naomi, looking at Kanata: "Does she know?" Noel: "No." HRMMMM.
- The first half, and much of the 2nd half, was very light on music. This episode had a very melancholic, rainy day atmosphere.
- I guess, for Noel, driving safe means "No talking while the car is in motion."
- The scene where Kanata finally plays her trumpet well is some hardcore scenery porn. It looks beautiful. It's interesting how those reveilles always seem to have the magical power to make the sun come up.
- Noel is indeed very cute. The end of the episode was heartwarming.
- Kanata also gets lots of opportunities to show her cuteness as well. Her interplay with the freckled village girl at 09:23 was awesome.

I guess it was a good episode... Though when Kanata suddenly became so good at the trumpet after getting lectured by that guy deserved an "Ehhhhhh~~~!! "
The part where Noel suddenly fell asleep was also very sudden, but it was nothing compared to this...
Almost makes me want to go to a blacksmith and get lectured...

Speaking of the blacksmith, the person singing the OP finally appeared... Some have wondered why she was singing the OP when she didn't appear in the anime.

And to top of a rather... plain episode is that line of how it was the first time she saw Noel smile. <--a line people have probably seen before; it happens, yep


PS: The seat belt... Is there a point is you are still going to smack into the window when the car stops...?

Oh god I can just see the comparison with Yui's guitar skills coming back. Look its simple, its whats called mentoring. Having someone as a example or there to give you on the spot tips increases the learning as much as 100 fold. Its the best choice for learning something fast. Copying others is what we do best. That's why we have teachers in schools ~ though mine were so crazy and useless and stupid sometimes I'd rather not copy their "enlightenment".

You and your mentor do have to be somewhat on the same page (just wanting doesn't cut it), so hence the sayings: "master will come when student is ready" and so-such.

The part about the ocean, they kinda tell you about it on the website before it aired, so I wasn't really surprised, as well as the technology part's also hinted. It kinda cheapens the impact for me at least ...

I enjoyed the episode was nice to get see Noel some actually at this pacing though I'd have to guess that ms. captain(Felicia) will be larger focus of the next episode since each of the other girls spent most of the episode with Kanata besides her; first 'her' episode > 2nd Kureha > 3rd Rio > 4th Noel > 5th Felicia? in order let us better understand/know each member of the Troop.

Also Does Noel's voice, and manner of talking remind anyone else of Yuki Nagato(from Haruhi)?
Cause it sounded really similar to me even though I am pretty sure it's a different VA.

We might have teachers in school, but I don't think anyone has suddenly gotten very smart in a single day... or in this case, a single speech.

It happens when your foundations were already good and you had a little detail you weren't noticing screwing everything up. After all, they didn't said that the girl suddendly transformed into a gran maestro, they only showed us her being able to play one of the standard trumphet songs correctly, which is a pretty decent accomplishment without it being outrageous.

This means at some point in the past they had hyperinflation and then the currency was reset, but by that point people had made a habit of saying million in place of yen and the shop owner still haven't shaken it off.
