I installed version 3. I keep expecting to see my old version when I look up, but the buttons are actually better than the last version I was using. Not sure which version it was though. xD

I don't really consider myself a fan but I use Firefox a lot because it stops pop-ups better than IE and I like the community for making all the useful add-ons. I pledged yesterday and I'm waiting for my email say I can start downloading it.

Today, at 1 PM East Coast, begins the Firefox Download Day--the target is to turn the new Firefox 3 the most downloaded software in a day and break the Guinness record.
It's a nice fun marketing campaign. Be sure to drop by later--a lot of people are doing it and the Spread Firefox website is very slow right now.

10 minutes to go.... waiting for a total slashdot effect on their servers....
I've been playing with the release candidates for months now..... just a very nice unobtrusive experience. Now if I could just get all the cancerous vestiges of IE out of my system it'd be great. There used to be an IE and omfggetitoffofme-OE and itburns-Messenger remover tool that worked great but can't remember the name or whether it can handle XP or ugh-Vista. [edit] and bingo..... mozilla.com and the associated websites have all been brought to their knees by a requested worldwide DDOS attack. da phunny

I guess they greatly underestimated the demand. Which is odd. Mozilla.org actually has one of the better load handling mechanisms around, as they learned from past release experience. For them to hype FF3 this much, and not be prepared is a little disappointing.

Well.. .unless they were using Data Centers From Hell - an initial rush will bring almost *any* server configuration to its knees temporarily. Nothing to be disappointed about.
Heh, the first time I tried that link it told me I was going to a "very suspicious country domain" ..... second time I got a more reasonable answer. YMMV

It is how you remove windows component in XP, not sure if the same procedure applies to Vista as well though. I'm personally keeping my IE installed for compatibility reasons. Some webmail services don't work to well with Firefox 2. Not sure if 3 will improve it. But i'll give 3 a try in a few days after reading some reviews and seeing some screenshots.

Upgraded to FF3 and haven't really noticed anything too different other than the new skin. <shrugs shoulders> (or like Vexx likes to say: YMMV)
Need a FF3 compatible menu editor! NVM, found the FF3 version. Last edited by CrowKenobi; 2008-06-17 at 19:07. Reason: Found new version |

First impression: fast. Edit: Oh, and you can drag and drop a picture right from a forum post up to the bookmarks toolbar. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be used for, but cool gadget is cool. This is fun! |

Oh god...the memory footprint went insane on mine. I'm already above 80MB ten minutes in.
Perhaps I should try a clean install instead of an upgrade. I need a new roster of add-ons anyway after a few went out of commission through the upgrade. |
