TBH i wouldn't be surprised if FUNi havent licensed season 2 yet. I've been digging around their site and everything points to it just being season 1 they licensed. They'll wait to see how it takes off i guess and then possibly license it.
Bear in mind they did this for both D.Gray and Kenichi as well, only licensing part of the series |

Thankfully, I've been able to watch the first episode just before the second one starts airing.
I do have to admit that for the continuation season of the series this starter episode was rather eventful, giving hints for a few plot machinations in the future. Spoiler:
And, again my hunch was right when confirming that the ending theme played on episode thirteen comes from the second season. It was a rather good episode. Spoiler:
Spoiler for As for the Shichisei:
BTW, the jukebox rendition to the OP song is beautiful. |

It works better for me, I really loved the old OP/ED, I find the new ending somewhat unfitting in general, I should make an exception though for ...
Spoiler for AKA ep.12 spoiler:
... though this may be somewhat biased. , well it's supposed to be a shounen series Quote:
Nah, Ouri's dead cat is something like the devil's advocate, it constantly offers the counter-argument and makes Ouri reflect upon himself, his motivation, etc. I really like that touch and consider it somewhat insignificant to rationally fit it within the cosmology of the show. Functionaly it works for me just fine as it is ... though, I wouldn't mind a more thorough treatment. |

Was not that impressed by episode 1 but i didnt expect much after Aka im watching now just to see how it ends. This is not the worst series in the world but as others have mentioned numerous things could have been done better starting with Makina's voice which makes you so unsympathetic to anything involving her.
The best thing about Shikabane Hime is Kamika she can be my princess of blades anytime.

I'm disappointed... so disappointed that I have now officially dropped this series. It's a shame because I really liked it's dark theme, but I can't get pass the Idol Hime + her monk and the little white haired girl is annoying me...
I just find it cheesy that she has a crazy sadistic side and then she is back to her "where am I?" loli side acting like a lost puppy *barfs* All in all... I hope those who are still watching is enjoying it though!

This show has been pop entertainment from the getgo anyway. I though the super-western-otaku-stereotype was hilarious for even existing.
It looks like they got most of the exposition out of the way and maybe they can finish the training and get down to the dirty battles. Basically, it is a continuation of the first series. What can I say? |

I have a question, since I watched most of the series raw and my japanese kind of suck, I am unsure if I missed this, but ... is Saki a shikabane-hime or Rika's contruct-ess (if this word exists)? I took it for granted that she is a shikabane during the first season, since she is female, not a monk, gratitiously and untastefully dressed and has those weird claws to fight; but now I kind of doubt it.
As for the gaijin otaku, probably that's how the japanese wants us to be |

I have to give kudos to GAINAX and Feel, because they action for episode two was just awesome while the plot was so cheesy that it was cool.
Spoiler:
My thoughts for this episode were that Ouri seriously has to resume his training and grow-up. Spoiler:

Just out of curiosity did the overall anime change style after the first 3 episodes or did it stay more or less consistent including this season. Did not care too much for first few episodes so I dropped it and was wondering if it turned out better later and I should pick it up again (didnt like how weak the chick was).

Additionally going with Shonen mentality, there must be some kind of additional significance to balance Ouri's general ineptness (in addition to his emotionless early childhood and lack of a fear of death). I wonder how the manga has touched on the subject. |
