BEST EP SO FAR!!! MGS and Bonta refs were great, though you have to pay attention to the background to catch the 2nd one. On the other hand, that was one really smart idea for the haunted house; this is the best I've seen in using character manipulation for the sake of humour.

Actually, there is a captial of Europe - Brussels. It's the seat of the European Parliment and it's often referred to that way in the press. That's why I was a little curious about just what the intent of that joke was!

Plus after that scene really drives me insane. Shouko in pure white wedding dress.

Just a question. Does Yuuji lives with his parents?

Cause if so, he is pretty much screwed. If Shouko was let in by his parents then he already lost the war.

It's his voice, but it's chopped up and spliced together from many other conversations he's had.

Oh well. At least the animation is nice... It's like I'm back to watching the first Slayers season. As far as the boob-jokes are concerned.

No, according to the novel, that's Hideyoshi's mimicking Yuuji's voice.

Well, in the anime it sounded very choppy and distorted, rather than mimicked. But thanks for the source clarification.

Hmm... I read this episode differently. Yuji proved that he DOES care about Shouko by beating up the turd, and by encouraging her to hold on to her dreams, and not letting anyone make fun of them. He did pick up on Shouko's hesitation when the special dinner was announced, and he took the opportunity to respond to Shouko's opening by essentially telling her "you are loving me for the wrong reasons - you should rather find someone better matched". (Based on what Yuji said, I guess that 7 years ago he somehow saw her naked and promised to "take responsibility" or something likewise trivial)

But boy, if you seriously wanted to discourage Shouko with that, it backfired. What a smile!
