The author is really pushing Misaki here. Not that I mind since she’s tied with Kuroko for my favorite Index-verse character.....

I certainly think Himegami need some focus. I mean whole this vampire stuff was never properly explored irc. Kanzaki I certainly wish we got more of her, she is very good character but I wish see her in different role then "enemy that take it easy against Touma and than let him get away". Birdway is relatively recent character so I don't think there is necessity give her big role, but she does have ability and character to make use of it if she get one. Itsuwa is bit pointless though. She is basically glorified elite mook with boobs. If anyone (other then Kanzaki) from Amakusa, Tatemiya would be better pick. He is more interesting.

She's like a decade old at this point.

While I also want to see old characters back in important roles, I have basically given up the idea with Kamachi's writing. He keeps shoving newer and newer character to the point it's hard to keep up, even for him.

Only a handful number of characters at this point really matter "The 3 main heroes and their harem"

The author openly stated Aisa was designed to be forgettable and lacks the qualities to stand in the spotlight. The amount of change that would have to take place to make her usable as a heroine would probably take multiple story arcs.

Kanzaki is also a really old character. The most amusing thing about her is that half of England know she likes Touma while he's oblivious to it.

This is a surprise and a half. These are two characters I never expected to see together on a cover. I'm getting rather interested to see what'll happen in this volume.

Thing is, that is not an official release. That image was leaked last month on weibo, but just started to resurface recently. Given the timing, people are assuming this will be the next cover, but there are still no statements from the author about it.
