Autumn said Allen never cared about hikm and only used him as a grief outlet. He can't accept this and the trauma from the injuries, forced movement, seeing Tatnashi (Water clone, actually) impaled caused him to....break. His strongest memories are of the camp, so that's where his mind ended up.

Well, who do you think should say the magic words a.k.a "Allen dies and it's your fault"? it's the only way to get him back to normal. His skills are more than halved in that state.

THe only reason he joined is because he thought it was his fault (Kinda is) and swears to kill Autumn. Without that motive, he's stuck on perpetual Genki kid mode.

....Are there medicines to help restore memory? Otherwise, cruelty's the oly option to shock him out of his delirium.

Nope, in fact, if it was trauma induced, cruelty is the least desired option. Best to give them a combination of neural medicine and give them attention as well as recovery psychotherapy.

But of course Irish don't have that privilege

Nope. They need him for his tech skills and survivability, nto much else. As long as he doesn't remember, his survivability is near zero even if he still has most of his tech skills.

As you said yourself. Irish does not have the privilege to get that. Tatenashi and his other friends might support him, and that's the only one cure I can think in such condition, acting as a suspension.

Therefore, when the key word is said, he won't go into a breakdown, instead, his old personality will be unlocked.

Cruelty is the only option?

Yeah, eh won't break down. More like get a headache then go back to normal. He doesn't hate them for it and is actually thakful.

Do people remember the things they did when they reverted?

Depends

Sometimes the memory is locked forever, disappear completely, or merging with the actual memory.

After all, amnesiac self act like a RAM in a computer. It keep you functional.
