After reading to many spoilers, I don't know why but my image of Miyuki become worse and worse. She is like weight to Tatsuya. Even knowing what Yotsuba did to Tatsuya, it seem like she didn't do something for Tatsuya. Is she even know that she is the hostage for Tatsuya? Or is Tatsuya's family (his mom, his dad, and Miyuki) is a bunch of coward?

Umm, yes she does know she is in effect a hostage of sorts. She doesn't really care for her family either, but pretends to for Tatsuya's sake. Its weird like that, Tatsuya pretends he doesn't hate the Yotsuba in order to not pressure his sister, and Miyuki plays along with it. Her loyalty is to her brother.

As for the rest of the family, i'm not sure if coward is the right word, even though they are scared of him. Who wouldn't be, given what he can do and the obvious resentment he holds towards them?

She's a weight in the sense that she's a restriction to his freedom, since he is her Guardian. He's not free to move as he wishes because he needs to keep her safe. But she keeps him there, knowing that, because if he is guarding her, he has the right to refuse all other things the Yotsubas would use him for (which likely wouldn't be pretty since he's viewed as a tool by pretty much everyone.

Also, she does know about his torture. She knows his healing magic and knows about his scars, it would be impossible for her not to know. And like blud said, she places Tatsuya above all the others. She is mainly not doing anything because Tatsuya isn't doing anything. They're not strong enough to defeat the entire family, so he's not doing anything yet.

Spoiler for Tatsuya vs Yotsuba Clan:

I find it weird that Yotsuba family is so powerful that even after Tatsuya destroyed a few cities and the poor Chinese Apostle with Materiel Burst, that caused other countries and a few war-level magicians to make a move, the family head only said that it'll affect Yotsuba clan, instead of "We're fucked!".

Just how powerful could they be to be this arrogant, oh, they do know about the secret movements of other secret organizations from other countries, they're really powerful.

Also, if Tatsuya is a war-level magician, shouldn't he be able to kill the family head anytime he wants to since they're on a totally different level? She just attacked Tatsuya with Night magic only to have it destroyed, and she continued sitting there with him sipping tea instead of think "I'm doomed!".

I wonder what would happen if the current Tatsuya were to go all out against the entire Yotsuba clan, I believe at least 50% of the clan should be annihilated before Tasuya were stopped.

Its been a while, but if I remember right Tatsuya's problem isn't with the killing of the family. If he was going to fight them he wouldn't take them all head on like an idiot anyway. He seems to think there are hidden players behind the scenes(and evidence supports this), and he needs more information before going ahead to make sure he gets them all.

Oh, and about that scene with the head where she attacks Tatsuya with her magic, she was considerably more panicked than she showed from the looks of her conversation with that dude afterwards. She was only calm because she thinks Miyuki has him on a leash, so to speak, and that Miyuki is loyal to the family over her brother.

I cannot understand what the feeling of resentment or vengence Tatsuya has on the Yotsuba family. Is it because of the way the Yotsuba family trains their members (Tatsuya included) and does genetic manipulation and all?

He have been tortured, experimented upon all because he wasnt powerfull enough according to his familly (well his power didnt kicked in yet), this is going to build some negatives emotions shall we say ?

I think it has something to do with the torture and treatment as an expendable object. For the record, not all the Yotsuba go through any kind of experimentation, only the rejects. Most of them don't survive.

Theres a scene in a summary over on jcafe where he takes his shirt off and his entire body is laced with scars, burns and remnants of stab wounds. Keep in mind that Tatsuya can instantly heal injuries. So those scars were done either before his magic was done maturing or while it was somehow blocked.

That's only the tip of the iceberg. It doesnt take a large imagination to guess where his resentment comes from.

If the training is to make them stronger then isnt it natural as they are that kind of a family where power speaks. If they are strong they are allowed to exist. Otherwise they are subjected to training. If they go through it till the end they survive. You could take the example of the Zoldyck family in Hunter x Hunter where to become a proper assassin they go through hellish training.

Tatsuya doesn't know who the people behind the scenes are so technically even if he destroyed the yotsuba clan I'm assuming they would find a way to revive it easily think about how powerful an organization they are. Also people are forgetting the process that Tasuya has to go through to use his powers even if Miyuki doesn't restrain him I fail to see how he can get access to the military CAD that allows him to use Material Burst otherwise he would end up killing himself along with whoever is present and with him gone who would protect Miyuki?Plus as much of a badass Tatsuya is the high level people didn't really know his abilities the Yotsuba clan actually have a grasp of it. So until he can use Material Burst without the need for special equipment he can't make himself ( I can't believe I am about to type this) he has to get "stronger"

Since the MC is already so badass. I think the author might have trouble trying to write the LNs from year 2-3 in high school without introducing more badass enemies.

But seriously, the difference in power between the MC and the rest of students in his school is a bit...

The military and his family restricts his Material Burst. His demon right can only be used during military emergencies or in private missions. He also can't go around waving his divine left around since all of the above are military secrets. He's also not supposed to show off his instant casting speed.

In a "normal" circumstance such as the school, he can only access up to gram demolition and gram dispersion along with his martial arts and his great intellect.

I wonder how Lina acts in school since her identity as a war-level magician is supposed to be secret.

I wonder if anyone in school besides Miyuki realized how powerful Tatsuya really is (I suppsoe not, the big three probably think they're a bit more powerful than him).

I think the initial problem with his family is not from his lack of power but from his emotions. He can't use his power because he is too human.
I think that he has and his family could have measured his potential but his emotions are an obstacle to there development. How to react when you discover that if you use its power can kill thousands or millions of people. He must learn to control his emotions and he has no remorse for his actions or he'll self-destructs.
At First, his familly confronted him with emotional pain, they take away his mother and told them that she is dead. (Is dhe really dead? or is she used as backup for her aunt? If I remember his mother is the twin of the head of the familly.) But that's not enough they torture and finally they implanted a machine in his brain to erdicate all humanity.

The way I see it is that his problem is the lack of emotions, as he doesn't seem to have any and is trying to regain them.

Actually, that sequence isn't quite right. I'll release the Flashback Arc's summary soon. So you'll see.

In it, we see Tatsuya's actual mother and SHE was the one who directly operated on her son at the age of 6. Even after Tatsuya became the powerhouse he is today- a war level magician -, she still considers him a "defect" and shows utterly no remorse for her actions. She's also brainwashing her daughter to treat Tatsuya as a tool to be used and thrown away.

The Shiba sibling's mother really did die though. She died before the current timeline.
