They honestly should have had Mai Nakahara voice her while channeling Rena, it would be up to the levels of Usoda! awesomeness.

I am seriously having a blast with the mysteries right now. I actually had the same exact conclusion Battler had with Kinzo's room, but now It's the true classic case of the locked room with Eva and Hideyoshi's room and I'm stumped as it is. I was refusing to admit a magical reason for the first 2 issues due to very plausible logic, but it seems I have to admit it now for 3rd issue.

Anyway, the scene with Kanon in the boiler room is some of scariest shit I've had to contend with in a while.

At this point for me it all points to a magical perpetrator rather than a human one... Almost done with Episode 1.

My main issue now is that I'm still searching for a mainly human perpetrator. Though I never played Higurashi, while watching the anime I was always searching for a more human logical reasoning to the entire mystery. While I admit to some supernatural influence (Rika's enough proof of that), I could still say without a doubt that the events at Hinamizawa was a human planned event.

I could only vaguely theorize on the stuff you mentioned, but trust me, It will only get better from here. Episode 3 > 2 > 4 (might change later when I've read everything) > 1 is the order I'd rate them so far.

Wait~ you're gonna give up already?

There are plenty ways for a human to do all this. It's just the lack of evidence and all explanations seem to be made out of sin air. But they are possible.
Also I think Ep1 is the "easiest" episode to make theories for because a important point which destroys more and more theories will be added in Ep2

Episode 1 is most definitely the easiest Episode to make theories for BECAUSE of lack of evidence. It allows you to come up with any crazy theory you want to explain it as humans.

...You'll see.

Spoiler for Other methods for the second twilight:

General tips about locked room / impossible crime mysteries:
- Don't assume that everything that happens was caused by the killer.
- Don't assume that the seemingly impossible crime was the result of a perfectly executed plan. Very frequently it is the result of a plan that's gone wrong.

Read some John Dickson Carr / Carter Dickson. Especially _The Three Coffins_. (If nothing else, read chapter 17: "The Locked Room Lecture".)

Well my initial point was, while Ocham's Razor isn't an absolute rule of logical deduction, having far too many variables to certain crimes gives far too many possibilities and far too much room for error. Everything I'm conceding to somehow accept more than others is based on them having the least amount of conjecturing and requires the least amount of hypothesizing.

As I've said, I will always lean and look for the human angle as a personal belief, but if current evidence (or lack thereof) points to the supernatural, I'll have to concede to some extent. That said, I'll have to finish at least episode 2 and 3 to make any changes to my current theories.

Hi, I just finished reading the 1st chapter of Umineko yesterday. Since most of my friends haven't read the VN, allow me to share I what I thought about the mystery

Spoiler for Chaos Theory:

That's all of my thought. Please discuss with me so that I can have a different picture of the mystery before I move to chapter 2
