EDIT: in my defense, I was talking about writing style. I.S. are more shounen than Shoujo, and your writing style is closer to canon long ago.

You start feeling that way when you pay more attention to comparisons with other people's writing than want to tell your own story.

Yes, there are limits of suspension of disbelief. the frame of reference can be in-universe (hours, minutes) or out of universe (chapters).

It's mostly time. They tend to miss each other by a few seconds to a few minutes at most. For example: Maya takes Celeste to the office just a few minutes after Ichika went there with Charles and Yuu. Kazuma and Shouta also missed Honne by a few seconds.

They do meet next chapter. Tatenashi and Maya's kid chase von cloney to the hangar where Kanzashi's kids recognize her. Laura's kid gets hungry so Maya decides to cook something for her at the home ec room where Honne an 4 other kids are.

Hmm... for some reason, I imagine Ichika and Lyon's first meeting to be epic.

Ichika thinks Lyon's a girl. Then notices one arm missing and realizes it's the same arm the Silver Gospel lost... oh yeah...
