So i caught up with this manga in a week, and there are just a few things i want to mention and ask
1) Takamura is awesome and hilarious, kept me cracking all the way through 900+ chapters 2) Volg Zangief is arguably my fav char for whatever reasons 3) Is there a set goal for the manga that the mangaka announced sometime around? Mb getting to 1,5K chapters? Or until Ippo reaches the top of the world? Maybe Takamura gaining every world title? Only time will tell |

I think the unofficial goals and end for Ippo is the happenings of these 2 events.
1. Ippo vs Ricardo Martinez. 2. Ippo vs Miyata III. ( It will happen, mark my words. ) Of course, I suspect the Heavyweight Championship match for Takamura would be shoved its way somewhere between those 2 hyped-up events, so create the best 'Final Three Fight."

Apart from Takamura's Heavyweight Championship fight, none of these other matches are matches I want to see. This is probably why I haven't read a full chapter of Ippo since the start of the Miyata-Randy fight.

You know... this chapter was the greatest in a loooong time, i laughed with the brawl.... it was hilarious... and Kumi won in the end!.
So, there's 2 options: 1. Ippo actually kills the guy... 2. Ippo is in a pinch and he makes his classical comeback.

i actually think and hope that ippo just outclasses the guy in 10 seconds, with half-killing him. Sending him to the hospital a lá Mashiba style doesn't seem far-fetched either
And that is one hell of a psychopath expression that is! + Date Sendo Mashiba bit was awesome^^ Guess i'll take up this manga in a year or 2 and see what happened, as the fights tend to eat up alot of chapters, with basically nothin happenin |

Yes but Sawamura didn't reduce himself to skin and bones the day before the fight. He was in good health and had dirty tricks up his sleeve on top of that. This guy's different, because on top of reducing himself to his worst shape possible, he absolutely can't use his right hand (unless he doesn't want to use it again in day to day life either after the fight). While one day is enough to regain some energy, it won't be enough against someone who'se in top shape. What does worry me is the fact Ippo didn't sleep the night before.

Every other time it seemed as if Aokimura were given another chance to shine like their arc, they get trolled over. Especially Kimura.

I don't remember when, but someone asked Morikawa about who was -to him- the best fighter, he mentioned Takamura, Martinez, etc... Ippo wasn't there
I think that Morikawa is fine showing ippo as an underdog. Yes i want to be wrong too, i would pay to see this fight like the fight when Ippo came up with the Dempsey Roll for the first time... the comeback fight against Ponchai.
