I've watched chapter 6 in the cinemas during my trip to Tokyo, and here's a weird question...

...is it mostly guys that like KnK?

Because of the 200 something people in the cinema, I only counted 1 or 2 females beside me. I'm sorta freaked out, actually.

On the movie itself, I was rather disappointed. Audio and animation were great as usual, but plot doesn't seem to measure up to the other four chapters I've watched. Still, chapter 5's preview got me excited and I can't wait for DDL raw links.

Man, I just watched 5 (and went away with far too many screenshots), and people are discussing 6 already! XD

I'm not sure about the male/female thing, but I do have a few male friends who are VERY big supporters of KnK. I personally really enjoyed 5, but a few of the others, not quite so much.

First two, probably gg. After that it's more or less a toss-up, I think, at least according to what my sources tell me (I haven't watched any of shinsen's releases of this; I encoded gg's version but then again I'm not really happy with how parts of it looks so idk where I was going with this).

Honestly, it's a tough call. If I can watch gg's version online then I will. Think I did DL the first 3 movies done by gg. It's good quality. Shinsen does really good work too.

Why the shonen complaints? Actually, those types of villains can be in seinen also. That guy wasn't that typical. He just lost it big time at the end.

Definitely don't mess with Touko.

Doppel Member Join Date: Nov 2007	Just watched the 5th movie, and Spoiler for spiral paradox: Stunning visuals and captivating plot as always. It certainly does feel more "shounen"-ish than before, I think it feels that way because the antagonists this time around are much more stereotypical shounen. Dark, sophisticated trench-coated brooding wizard with an army of mindless soldiers - very very typical shounen. Genius, violent psycho dressed in a red top hat and obsessed with the past intent on taking revenge - again very typical shounen villain traits. That's not to say anything shounen is definitively BAD, I just think that given the extremely unique and dynamic personalities of Asagami Fujino and Kirie Fujou, both being victims of circumstance, manipulation or heritage, these two new antagonists' personalities feel static and uninteresting in comparison. (Hold on a second, maybe I just like female villains more LoL) Shounen complaints aside, this is still an amazing movie series so far. I'm so glad they decided to animate this, and Nasu deserves to have a top notch quality adaptation. Can't wait for 6, I need me some more Akiha.
