I might look into this series if they release a new non-handheld game on a Nintendo/Sony console, but in the meantime I'm just "meh" about it.
I've heard the new games aren't that great anyway.

Well, that's because the "new games" were solely FAN SERVICE, so the stuff you've been hearing about the games being terrible.... are mostly aimed at this. They had taken one of the best fighting games I'd played... and turned it into.... that. Looking at the gameplay and such for the 3DS game just makes me more pumped to pick it up. So happy they went back to fighting~

You'll be happy to hear that the fanservice was toned down quite a bit for DOA: Dimensions. Sure there's still a little bit of it there, though there's no way anyone can slate the game because of it.
It's a good time to be a fan of the DOA games.

The loss of leadership on the team has been detrimental. On the technical side, Team Ninja remains relatively competent (DOA Paradise is pretty bad in that regard, but it appears to be a blip so far). However, I'm not confident that they have the vision to pull off meaningful, well thought out sequels.
At this point, it might be better if they start something new. |

DOA Bolleyball is a good example of how a company can screw their characters by putting them into akwards and totally absurd fanservice games.
Good to hear they've learned from their mistakes. Specially since I heard that Dead or ALive paradise didn't sell very well.

I don't like sticking with just one character, but I don't like all the characters either. The three I swap between the most are probably Hitomi, Kokoro and Ayane. Kasumi has a few attacks kinda screw me over in a desperate situation, and most of the guys are too slow for my liking.
And also; I'll leave open a lobby whenever I am available for matches, so be sure to check if it's open

Ayane. I'm no good with getting combo's down, so I prefer to use her capability to evade and move quickly (all the spins and flips) to get short, quick damage off.
I've tried learning Kokoro, but I never really got much down.

I was really interested with Kokoro's fighting style in DOA4. I might return to her eventually.
Had a few fun fights with kyouray these evening . Looking forward to playing more friends this week!

Sounds like I missed out on some potential matches; curse you, Business Calculators midterm! >.>
Anyways, I'll leave a lobby open today for anyone who wants to join.

I dunno, Hitomi's first download costume always does it for me. Look at that; nothing's more badass when you're kicking someone over a cliff in that outfit.

To be fair, her counters are kinda boring to watch, and her punches are a little sketchy. Still, I use the counters to...you know, not get hurt, and if you're good, you can chain a few kicks with a 4-5 chain punch for a good combo. Her dash kicks are strong and send people flying off of ledges. Her throws are awesome; a smaller girl flipping around huge guys like Bass is amazing.
