exactly, its no fun if we can't vent our thoughts and gibberish on this subject. Its why we're all here, its all about spouting our thoughts and random gibberish!

there should be a thread with a vote then hopefully down the road he/she's gender is revealed and then whoever guessed right can gloat!

Well they use the word 'Unknown', if they don't intend for Chrona to have a gender, they would use 'None/Nil'... IMO.

The thing about fictional characters is that until a gender is assigned, it's as if they have none. Unlike a real person who is necessarily something even if you don't know it yet, a fictional character is actually neither male nor female nor hermaphrodite nor neuter until someone tells us. "Unknown" in this context means that either it'll be a plot twist/joke in the future or the creators haven't decided yet and probably never will decide.
