I don't fully understand TEPCO's rational for suggesting they be allowed to evacuate their workers.

If they don't do it another team of people will but that team won't know the ins and outs of the plant.

It would be unfair and dangerous from a logical perspective.

But, whats uglier is the potential disaster they would face and just think of the general idea the would have conveyed to the public.

I noticed other things too, like claiming that the nuclear accidents that happened so far cost only 31 lifes (just workers at the plants). Here you can see, that no cover-up is too dirty to be presented as scientific fact. They even try to create a graph from just three samples. Haha, if it wasn't so ridiculous... well, I don't want to pray doom, but I know when I am confronted with BS.

And btw. if you take the number for the modern designs 1:100,000 and 1:1,000,000 and factor in all power plants world wide, you end up with the numbers I was saying scientists/statisticians claim... 1:1,000 - 1:10,000 approximately.

Not sure if this is posted yet, but I find this a useful map for radiation
http://radiation.goo.ne.jp/

on the topic of wasting cash for games, please waste it in a good way. Like buying that $100 TF2 hat that donates money to Japan.

I am no fan of scare tactics - and that includes the use scare tactics to promote a good cause (such as environmentalism). I strongly support promote environmental protection through proper public education and research.

Greenpeace is a shame of environmentalism as they promote bad science, act controversially with intent, and spread public scare and hostility. Their action is actually harmful to environmentalism and the green movement.

-> demagogue
1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) a political agitator who appeals with crude oratory to the prejudice and passions of the mob

And thus Greenpeace blasts a hole in their credibility.

Frankly, the nuclear skeptic forces would be far better served with someone like Jinto leading the charge

Someone's going to blow their top soon when TEPCO's latest correction may soon need to issue another correction on the correction.
http://www.tepco.co.jp/en/press/corp...1033110-e.html

We would like to make a correction to a part of appendix "The result of
the nuclide analysis of water in the trench of Unit 1 Fukushima Daiichi
Nuclear Power Station" of "The status of water analysis in the trench of
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station" announced on 30th March. We
apologize for any inconvenience and would like to correct as follows:

<Correction part and context>

- "The result of the nuclide analysis of water in the trench of Unit 1
Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station"
·Densityensity (Bq/cm3)
Tc-99 (Approx. 6 hours) Approx. 2.8 x 10⁻¹
( Before: Tc-99 (Approx. 6 hours) Approx. 2.0 x 10⁻¹)

Appendix:"The result of the nuclide analysis of water in the trench of
Unit 1 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Revised)"
(PDF 10.4KB)

From the initial release http://www.tepco.co.jp/en/press/corp...s/110330e2.pdf
Tc-99m (Approx. 6 hours) Approx. 2.0 x 10⁻¹)

On the revised release http://www.tepco.co.jp/en/press/corp.../110331e17.pdf
Tc-99m (Approx. 6 hours) Approx. 2.0 x 10⁻¹)
And we have two wiki pages:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technetium-99m
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technetium-99

Also, it's a March 31st press release. They couldn't hold off just one more day...

Oh, and for some reason, Nb-95 (Approx. 35 days) Approx. 4.7 x 10⁻² changed to Nb-95 (Approx. 35 days) Approx. 4.7 x 10⁻³, not noted by the correction.

I shit you not, even though it's that stupid day of the year.

I won't rule out that Greenpeace is overhyping it ...

that nonewithstanding,

in light of repeated 'incidental" measuring errors, invalidated radiation tests, measuring west gate when wind blows east, piece by piece information, ridicolous staling by NISA and outrageous non-action by the government - I am not entirely certain of you are truly frying the biggest liar of all the truth bending factions out there by focusing on greenpeace ....

now where have I seen this before?

smh.

It is better fixed that way : the recent local politics over here made me think that, actually some of those with crude oratory speak more sense than the nice sounding politicians.

They could do the same with a PS3 controller. It is just that......the XBOX has bigger and more appealing boobs.

At this stage, no matter who the organization, I can no longer be surprised at the fear mongering and false info that is spread around by them. Just that there's so much conflicting info it's hard to know what's happening anymore.
