Hm ... as said, it looks a bit messy. I am not too fond of the colors here, i feel the red and light blue are too much in contrast ... a bit distracting i guess. Perhaps some softer colors for Ayu ?

How about that then ???? I did try to fix the internal "translucent" stuff by drawing on it again, and I tried to make the contrast less

Might have to fix the edges again later


@KiNA- very ns banner, but that tower is kinda distracting to me

That was intentional. I was trying to imitate the flying stance. Arms spread out thingy ^_^.

But having an empty banner with nothing but the render and clouds feels so empty >.<

The tree in my Kairin's banner and the tower in this one both represent AS >.<

I tried to stay out of any complicated BG with other things that unnatural >.<

want me to nitpick like no tomorrow? naw not that mean

1) the tower is nice but my only complaint is that you dont see enough of it...move the point higher and sort out the quality O.O

2) the positioning for the text needs to be moved...preferably not overlapping the tower :/

3) the lighting on the girl is kinda weird ~ and again the outline quality is poor!

4) make the clouds behind her more fluffy! ^_^

I will no longer make more posts with newer versions of my banners; If I decide to change something (likely), I'll simply come back to this post and make an edit here.

I'm wondering if it is only me, but i really feel your first banner was the best among the 4, either visual or "sky" wise.

ignore just the following critic if needed, not really great critics anyway...

1) the first banner looks a bit artifical between the renders and the BG. Basically, the way how the render is blended is a bit too outstanding, and it is hard to actually think (at least for me) that both girls are under or "in front" of the sky. The contrast and the glow might be the problem, and another blending mode, with other settings might do the trick.

2) Much like Skyfall said, the tree and the characters give more summer vibes instead of sky. this impression is increased by the green font and its font style.

3) I might be tired or something, but since the first time you submitted the third one, the "little fires" looks like christmas tree branches... no joke, it gives me vibes like this @.@
The conflict between pink/purp with the blue doesn't give a homogeneous mood, but rather something... well "weird".

none of them suffer from any quality or "blending" mistakes. but i dunno, except the very first one which you didn't validate as a definite submission, the rest doesn't look especially sky, due of either some choices or placements.

the problems i see in this signature :
1) the sky is extremely messy, and barely recognizible
2) the quality of the picture is extremely questionable (not your fault anyway)
3) the size of the render is too big, and really focus the whole attention (size and color wize. you will be instantly attracted with a massive orange object in front of a blue BG)
4) point 1 and 3 make hard to get a fully "sky" impression. i have more like "angel" than anything else.

the real challenge in this contest is most likely the choice of both render and BG instead of the effects and placements, since most likely, the render cannot take priority on the banner, but has to "improve" the sky effect and gives a "anime" touch.
and this is much harder for night, since it is hard to avoid "impression" of any other subject.

honest opinion would be that i dont like the sides and the dull pic on the left side >.< the right pic is a keeper but you will just have to find a way to work around it if you insist on using this subject O.O

Everyones banners are awsome! Seems like almost everyone is doing little girls as there image on the templates and clouds (which seems to be boring if everyone is doing little girls ).

Can't wait until the contest begins.

More summer than sky, eh?

And here I was going to put even more trees and some little birds here and there.

Seriously though, I'll try to fix it without removing the tree (me likes the tree). Maybe making the sky stand out more and changing the color of the font could help.

I'll try to change the color and soften the outer glow to see how it looks.

I am not sure what the "little fires" are supposed to be mind you; It's just something I suddenly feel like using.

Not really sure about how to change this one. I'll try to think of something as the days go by.
