and wow slicing does help . I just changed the background and made the shooting star more straight. I think the images should be at the forum limit. Also wouldn't Kai's shooting star be a meteor instead . Final Entry

And rather i hate animated sigs because they are usually animated simply for the fact of being animated (my avatar for example without naming names on the forum, yes im using my self as an example of what i dislike <<). This animated sig you've shown is actually using animation in a good concept expressing change or real motion, however normally ppl will simply use gifs for a simple motion or something that could be more creativly and interestingly expressed in a still image. EDIT: I made my avatar when i got here and was starting up PS again for the first time in awhile, thus no creative juices flowing and plus was kinda lazy. Ill term the type of animation i dislike as "lazy animation" from now on XD |

I myself favor non animated sigs. But I know that A lot of individuals enjoy them so I don't knock anyone for liking them. Obviously there are differences of opinions and that is quite alright. But I've deviated from the topic ^_^; Great entries everyone. Seems like it will be a great competition. =]

You are lumping the good and the bad..
Yes, there are peoples who animated for the sake of animating. Take for example your advice to me earlier in this thread.. Animated the floating screw? What thats got to do space? You are accusing us as animating for the sake of animating, and you gave exactly the reason why we are hated. And how is that any difference from slapping a girl render on a space and call it in theme? Some of us likes the challenge of AS strict limit. Making signatures is a hobby, and exercising our little grey cell. True, we could animated smoothly forever if we just animate the text and stuff, but some of us took time to think how our animation fits the theme. Try doing something different on your static signature everyime .. not just copy paste same steps each time .. put some render.. put some c4d .. brush here and there .. play with those mask filter, call it a sig.

This is what i was commenting towards about the animated float in space (was more than just a screw, but besides the complexity of that) I was just trying to help give you something to work off of since you required animation of yourself and seemed to be needing some sort of boost. Im sorry my pathetic suggestion couldn't help.
Also where did i slap you all together O.o I used my avatar as an example of the type of animation i dislike. My avatar is an image, not a user. I refrained from mentioning names because some ppl can make animations i like while other times the same person can make animations I don't like. The matter of likes and dislikes is as you said a personal prefrence. I know you like to push the limits of optimization and I have nothing against that, but thats not what I look for in an animation when I want to say that I like that animation. As for theme, my original entry was about the theme. I screwed over the theme because everyone else did that and my screwed over version i liked more than my original version so i kept it because i was too lazy to improve the first. It's rly obvious we look for different things in a sig and neither of them are right or wrong. Sorry if using the word "hate" tipped you off, i honestly didn't mean it in such a negative sense. |

I'm closing this thread since the Entry phase is over and we're getting off topic. The Voting thread will be up later on today. If further civil discussion on signature preferences and philosophy is of interest, take it to the generic discussion thread. You can find the link for that in the stickied index at the top of these forums or in the first post of this thread.
