Yeah, who would have thought...

I find it stupid how everyone just loves comparing a new work they've not looked into before, with another established franchise.

Why not just wait and see? Oh yeah, that involves patience and insight...

KyoAni/Key, where is Little Busters?

I doubt I'll watch this, unless it's damn good. K-ON has given me all the plotless moe/humor/wat I need and will want for a looooong time.

They're probably still working on it in secret!

Probably behind one of these doors, whilst I was in Kyoto recently:

I think this is about the only industry where a company carving its own niche is so harshly criticized for by its consumers. Aw well, I half expected this reaction when I read the announcement. Thanks for the expected reaction. ^

In any case the premise doesn't sound too bad on paper... it does sounds a little run of the mill but then again that's the same I thought before K-ON and Lucky Star.

The series composer actually has a good lot of recent stuff under his belt. Rozen Maiden, Chobits, Sola and Kashimashi to name a few.

Our cast.

Yuuko Aiai: Mariko Honda (Kurimu in Seitokai no Ichizon)
Mio Naganohara: Mai Aizawa (Natsumi Murakami in Negima everything)
Mai Minakami: Misuzu Togashi (Minatsu in Seitokai no Ichizon)
Nano Shinononome: Shizuka Furuya (hell if I know, she doesn't even have a Wiki page)
Professor: Hiromi Konno (Most recently, Sae in Amagami)
Sakamoto: Minoru Shiraishi (with Hiromi Konno again)

So, a cast of small-name voice actors, a 4koma adaptation and a (somewhat odd) slice of life schoolgirl comedy with KyoAni at the helm. The stars are aligning themselves.

Holy cow,how could I have missed this.

I never got that into k-on and lucky star (be it anime or manga) but I've really liked Nichijou so far.

It's flat out weird (something i don't think k-on or luckystar are) but in a good way.

I'd prefer to ask, "KyoAni, where is the next Full Metal Panic! sequels?" It's seriously long due.

I think the text in that trailer translates to "You're going to love this".

Yeah, that's probably more accurate. Although I still have to get over the evil barrier known as budget and such.

This is just a minor project that shouldn't affect the schedules of other projects much: just an OVA coming out with v6 of the comic, next March.

Director Ishihara Tatsuya did Haruhi. Perhaps this is his attempt to one-up Yamakan at something resembling Lucky Star.

I have great confidence in lead writer Hanada Jukki, who also wrote the adaptation of Seitokai no Ichizon.

I'm glad to hear this is a bit weirder than LS. Perhaps more like, oh, say, Seitokai no Ichizon?

Which is also a great place to go for a couple of seiyuus. I thought Honda Mariko was fascinating as Kurimu, and Togashi Misuzu was good as Minatsu, too. Misuzu has also shown up singing the ED to Fortune Arterial, singing as part of Lia's group, Veil (this is Veil starring Misuzu and Aoi).

Just looking at her blog, she has a couple of photos of her racing on a cart track in Tokyo. It was a photo shoot:

It is. The OVA is merely a prelude.

Sorry. Didn't read far enough back in the thread. If it equals SeiZon, it is of more interest to me than any of the other suggested projects, but that's just me. The PV doesn't show much to me except rather ordinary character design, however. KyoAni's knack of finding good young seiyuu remains interesting -- even if Konno Hiromi and Shiraishi Minoru don't do that much for me.
