9/10 because of everyone's favorite bully monk. And Tetra.
EDIT: Akatsuki. I share your pain of being underequipped when compared to your senpai. |

No surprise that Akatsuki is feeling pretty down right now. Even if keeping her here as a guard makes logical sense. Still those doubts that came up the last time they met Demikas and she saw that great teamwork between the three Tea Party members. That she's a step behind them all and that there is another reason why she was left behind.
Demikas may end up being a pain in the rear to deal with. Just coming along to try and ruin this ride. Oh well, I'm sure they can manage even with him causing trouble. Obviously somewhere along the way Shiroe will die, but may still accomplish his goal. The whole Naotsugu and Marie chat was pretty cute. I didn't expect things to progress so nicely with these two. I guess Tetra will act as annoyance to replace the lack of Akatsuki to kick Naotsugu around.

Looks like Yukiyo Fujii is having a double debut. This season, she's Tetora and Amagi Brilliant Park's Latifa. So far, I like both her playful Angel Beats Yui side and her delicate princess-like side in the two series.

Log Horizon 2 02 done.
Good episode. 1st episode was the standard reintroduction, so it was just whatever, but episode 2 is back to full planning/world stuff. I'm think this new Tetora idol character is a guy in real life, and not just a guy playing a girl online, but probably a homo as well, since he's flirting on Nao a bunch. And its the way you see those macho crossdressers in anime act. Regardless she acts a lot different than the real girl players we came across, and to me, Tetora comes across as a guy trying hard to act like what he thinks a girl should act. Also, great Marie x Nao scenes.

Poor Akatsuki... Being alone without her master while guarding the princess! I feel that she needs a hug from Henrietta.
Meanwhile, I'm worried that Demikas' bad blood with Shiroe would jeopardize the raid. I wish he should be put on a leash by William Massachusetts. Good thing he's back after his brief appearance from Season 1. |

ugh still can't get used to the animation. Feels like they got downgraded and sometimes the design is inconsistent. The new girl is a little annoying. ED didn't have much impact as the last season. But at the very least the story might make up for it.

I watched the first season of this all at once, so these one week waits are killing me. I love this show. The story is fun, and (more importantly) the characters - many as there are - are fantastic.
I've been on both sides of the fence that Akatsuki is currently dealing with, so I can definitely understand her desire to be stronger. Naotsugu x Marie is absolutely adorable, and I'm actually quite surprised, to be honest. I'd thought he was going to remain oblivious to her feelings (as per the norm in these cases), or not return them at all. This is much more preferable to me! Lastly, Tetra. Usually she'd annoy me, both in a show and the people like this I've met in MMOs. But I actually find her hilarious. There's just one itch about her I just can't scratch though. Even though I'm probably wrong (and I honestly would rather be mistaken), every bone in my body thinks that she is a he.

That's the problem when people still have the same bodies as they did in the MMO instead of their actual ones. I can't help but think that most female adventurers are actually male (which they probably are). I could very well say that Marie is male and there's nothing to prove me otherwise (unless i missed something).

Yea, Akatsuki is a special case since she went out of her way to not talk at all to roleplay as a male assassin ninja and not blow her cover as a girl.
Everyone else of the main cast all already knew eachother and played and raided with eachother, so I think they know eachother's genders just from headset talking and such.

Haven't read Honey Moon Log yet so thanks. Also with the amount of males pretending to be girls in MMOs i had trouble believing that everyone who looks like a girl is a girl. There's probably at least one that isn't a girl (maybe Tetra).

There are. While the anime didn't go into it in detail, one of the DDD members who made a cameo during the Goblin King event last season was a male trapped in a female body. Actually a fan-created character, as I understand it, that the anime decided to use instead of having a random background character. There are unquestionably others. Akatsuki wouldn't be the only one who followed the "part of the fun of games is doing things you can't do in real life" philosophy.

Well of course, I'm NOT gonna confirm or deny it, but if you two are indeed correct then wow great. But really people, this is like the first episode that she formally appeared; I think it's still too early to tell. Are you saying you're able tell that easily whether someone is a GIRL just after spending a few days playing MMO with them? Don't get me wrong, I also think she's suspicious, I mean showing up just right when Naotsugu is scouting raid members and actively flirts with him? She could be a spy from the South if anything, but a GIRL is a bit of a stretch though. |
