Anyway, managed to watch it somewhere else and it certainly delivered everything I was expecting from it.

I am also certain that the Op and Ed will grow on me as the episodes go by.

Difference from this and the movies is that being animated can get far gory-er than movies.

You'd be surprised. Black Lagoon went the OVA route due to the TV series being too graphic apparently. This one will prob be an OVA eventually too I bet.

And maybe its just the close circle I have, but its more like the minority spoke loudest is the problem .. Even in here, without naming names.. you get the same people who starts talking about how they hate fanservice in the show, and how typical the story was, how loathsome it is to watch .. yet, they would usually be the first few to post after an episode airing. You would expect that they would learn that after the few episodes or confirmation from the manga readers, the series would not be as what they expected it to be, and they might as well drop it if its annoy them too much, but no, they choose to annoy every other fans that enjoy the series with their incessant rambling >.>

And just FYI to anyone who have doubt about the series.. the episode shows quite a perfect balance of what you should expect from this series.. Yes, there would be additional gun porn by Kohta, and there would be additional boob porn from the shizuka.

I'm a reader of the manga myself, and for a first episode I have to say that this is one of the best manga-to-anime adaptations I have ever seen. It's so over the top in just the right extreme, mixing the awesome and the campy with the right balance. A well-executed first episode in most areas, if not all. At least, as far as this first episode is concerned, this is one instance of the reversal of that often used expression. Guess what? The book is not better.

However, the cynic in me is wondering how long this series can keep up the stellar quality of the first episode. This series doesn't really try to be anything other than what it is, and from what we've seen so far, the quality is indeed there. In the end, that's fine with me.

I think it's good to have a diverse set of opinions going in one thread. You can't always praise a series after all, and criticism can be interesting to read. But if the sole purpose is to vent and rant all the way to end, then it just becomes silly and stupid. No one is forcing anyone to watch some disliked show against his or her will, just so one can have this sense of accomplishment of having finished an awful series. Personally, I'd rather find other ways of wasting my time.

I'm afraid you can't get rid of people like that. The only hope is with the series being split into several seasons.

Wow, I haven't seen such a gory anime since Elfen Lied back in the days. I enjoy survival horror zombie apocalypse games and occasionally the movies, but this seems kind of off. IMO, the fanservice feels out of place for this kind of themed anime.

Oh well, maybe the fanservice will lighting up after the first few episodes since they are trying to grab viewers attention with the first episode.

If that what you hoping for, then I suggest you stop hoping (and drop the series altogether if it annoys you).. That would be my best advice.

My advice......more zombie shooting! I would like them screw the ecchi and put more serious sexual themes like kissing or that part in Gantz they did....don't need to even show it just giving hints would be nice......BTW someone spoiler and tell me if Takagi x Hirano is going to happen.

What i find amusing is people constantly telling "no spoilers!", "we dont want to know what happens next!".

Like if such kind of movies/shows need a spoilers and you cant pretict the outcome. Everyone dies (except for randomly choosen 2). Only thing to discuss in what order and by what means.

I honestly think this is one anime where Fanservice is almost perfectly placed.

It's an incredibly gory anime and the fanservice makes it seem less so, also all B Movie Horror Films are literally full of the stuff, my god the stuff Zombies do to the sexy wimmins is ridiculous. It's like they've found an anime where Fanservice actually goes with the genre!

And the zombie....yeah that's how zombie should look like in anime. OP and ED songs are exactly to my likeness...and the OP scenes were magnificent though the ED part was kinda plain and simple.

As for the storyline...i'm glad i am among those who haven't read the manga yet, so i can enjoy the whole episode without worrying of the first episode being close to the manga or not. Just that it bugs me on why the school wasn't informed about the plague that started to arise in the city. This kind of problem should be a national level issue, so there must be some kind of ways to tell out to alert the civilians the issue, like using radio or TV. However by the time the zombie reached the school, no one at the school was aware of the fact that the city was under attack. I wonder if the government plan to keep the issue as secret and trying to control the issue on their own without letting the civilians know about it...but all i can see in the end was, the city was being zombie-fied completely. And i wonder how they all gonna survive in that zombie city after this...heck if its me, i just do like what one of the teacher did, jump out from the window and die while still retaining own mind and conciousness. At least its better to die as a human than die as a zombie

Conclusion, i love the series..exactly as someone said, the best anime for summer season. Summer sure have alot galge based anime with lots of same old fanservices and storyline...but HOTD brings out the new concept and premise of how fanservices can be manipulated naturally without ruining the whole storyline. Thumbs up to Madhouse for this.

I think the school was just sacrificed. The government probably has its hands full just trying to contain the situation. They probably figured that even if the school knew what was going on the people there were just doomed anyways. Better to limit the amount of people trying to evacuate and thus limit the chance that containment will be breached. Also probable that the phone lines were extremely busy due to the mass panic and everyone just forgot about the school and prioritized saving their own lives.

Honestly I might just join you with the window jump. Probably not the type that survives this kind of situation . Well might reconsider if I get lucky and find that one group that always survives these kinds of things. At best will survive at worse will survive for a little while and be killed off to remind the group that danger still exists .

You make a very good argument. I mean this kind of situation demands that kind of solution. Though the re-population does depend on how wide-spread this is. If it's just the city the remaining population should be able to fill in the losses normally. Besides would anyone ever move back into that kind of place after this disaster?

After watching the first episode, i regret a little bit to read the manga of it. That makes it less exciting, what happens next.

Animations and the general quality looks perfect. Cant wait for the next episode.

Also.. I never thought, that this series has fanservice.
