The Director seems alright, but lol at the Lead Writer. That said this an adaptation so this may not matter as much.

The girl seems a lot more...energetic than the manga and LN make her out to be. I can't decide if I like the subtle changes in the design of Akatsuki's face or not.

You mean since she's smiling and striking a more confident pose? Yeah, I see what you mean, but that could be just for promotional purposes. The characters don't have to be completely consistent for that type of marketing.

The MC looks kinda dull though. Hope he's not going to be another extremely slow/pacifist type like Godou from Campione

I don't know about what you don't like but just because it's animated by them doesn't mean Oonuma directed it and I begin learning the ethics behind the studio.

As for myself, I find Silver Link's animation and other visual aesthetics to be beyond excellent with minimal issues, their stories does have a very questionnable writting but it doesn't stop me from enjoying some of their works regardless. I'm very much looking forward to watch the anime adaptation of Watamote since I have read the manga a bit and I will look forward to this one too since I liked Gakuto Mikumo's works a bit, though Dantalian doesn't impress me much but it's still above average.

Then that's the part we disagree on. I find their animation work to be mediocre and their art direction often ranges from bleh to terrible.

I've read the manga and I can assure you that he is no Godou in terms of fighting spirit. He may be a dense harem MC when it comes to romance, but he certainly doesn't hold himself back when fighting. Although they may be similar when it comes to regretting the collateral damage they cause.
