Northern Ireland looks nice this time of year. Can Northern Idaho have some of your snow?

Seriously I hate this year so very much. Last year we had a plethora of snow, and so much so that we actually had to buy a snow blower so we had the option of getting our vehicles stuck on the roads instead of being trapped in our houses.

This year, we've had a couple snows that all melted within about a day. This area lacks consistency. It needs to be more like Seattle, except snow every day instead of rain.

It's crazy, it ended up snowing here in FL early Saturday morning. I've seen snow many tiimes before, but it was just weird seeing it at my house lol, even though it wasn't that much.

It would have to be either alot of snow where it would be tough to get to work or not at all. At least I don't have any to worry about right now.

One of these days, I should consider going there (north or south ireland where my ancestors used to be)

The scenery alone deserves a + Rep

I thought that I would get a break from the snow but it snowed in NY today, it was supposed to be a light snowfall but my sis informed me that it was still snowing. How I wish to be back there.

Snow? It is always "sand" where I live
Even rain is rare but the wind is terribly cold in the Winter. I think it rained 6 or 7 times this years so far and most of it was light.

It's still winter, so snow can be expected at any time. It covered the sidewalks but not the streets here.

Snowed here last night, though it was only some light flurries and is already starting to melt. Was still pretty to look at, though.

Washington DC has a forecast of about 2 feet. almost 3 feet in the west virginia and virginia mountains.

Amazingly they still have the hockey game going on downtown!

I don't think the city is going to get much outside of 1-2 inches. Below the city, looks just about right 3-6 inches. Only the major streets don't have snow here. I think the serious stuff only got as far as central NJ. Further south, I doubt anyone is leaving their homes.

We have approx 18" right now in Northern Virginia...

My husband has been going out every few hours to shovel, lest it block the door LOL

My poor dog sinks up to his chest when we take him out and is NOT a happy critter.

Unfortunately, Northern New Jersey wasn't hit at all. Only a coating on the ground, which is pretty sad... I really wanted alot of snow.

In suburban DC we did indeed get 2 feet. The Army Base (Ft. Belvior) near the freeway is totally out of power.

Airports are a mess, I can't get back to school till tuesday.

It didn't snow as much as I expected and I have doubts about it snowing on Wed aswell but the temp is low and it is quite windy out.

Snow!

Ok I'm kidding. But, seeing as I'm currently in a place that will NEVER get snow (or else my JC geog is trashed), I went back to my hometown, Tokyo, just to see snow, for 2 weeks.

On a serious note, http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/06/us/06storm.html

I guess there's an old saying, wait and see. But once again, predictions of being buried under snow is running rampant on the news weather stations. This time it could be the 5 boroughs of NYC.
