For the people who sometimes get the strange urge like me to decorate there windows, some Miku Windows Xp/Vista icons. They got up to 128px embedded. So not fully vista prove. Just don't enlargen them to over 128 px and they should look fine
Click the image to download them

A few day ago, I happened to have a chance to get a trial version of Hatsune Miku and found that Vocaloid used the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) to describe lyrics. It seemes original lyrics in natural language (Japanese) words are translated into the IPA with a special dictionary before the software synthesizes vocal sound. You can edit the IPA translation (maybe I should say "transliteration"), or enter IPA characters directly. So, theoretically speaking, Vocaloid can sing in almost any language if you give it a set of samples how a certain human sings.
(Hatsune Miku has a Japanese sample only -- Fujita Saki's way of singing, though) Last edited by htsuji; 2007-10-12 at 12:08. |

You can play Miku with your own hands.
Operations: 1.The white keys respond to your mouse click. Miku sings out the note. 2.Click "?" button. You can now play with PC keyboard. Enjoy "Hatsune Miku nano" Motoda-san: the creator of "Hatsune Miku nano" also provides "Full-Miku: Contagious Songs player". This player lists popular Miku original songs in random sequence. Warning: At low bandwidth environment, play of the song stops abruptly and moves on to next song. Full-Miku: Contagious Songs player These gadgets are parts for the blog. So you can introduce these to your own page. Spoiler for Gadgets build-in codes:

http://www17.plala.or.jp/gw/miku/ You'll need these programs for the lyric display to work. 1. Flele Miku pack 2. Winamp 3. YunaSoft SexyFont Plug-in 2000 => http://yunasoft.nerv.org/ Then get the Japanese language pack for Winamp. And then just mark all the options you need according to the pictures shown in the website. (They also provided a few songs & lyrics files for you to try out.) |

Well after seeing so many people in the GFX section running around with miku siggy/avys I figured there had to be a thread on this topic hiding somewhere on the boards.
Its a crying shame though that there isnt an english version of this since its god awfully adictive to listen to and I can only imagine how much fun to mess around with yourself. Well either way I think yamaha has really hit upon something here. *Continues to listen to youtube links*

There is an English version, called "Sweet Ann", but the voice is more like an old 20's/30's lounge singer. Kind of a sultry sound I guess but the English isn't as good as the Japanese due to needing more vowels and consonants. Still extremely impressive considering the technology. Here's a Myspace that features her - Sweet Ann
