In the last decade I don't really have a "stay up" schedule.
I sleep whenever I'm not at work and am sleepy having some hours free. Although, usually I do sleep between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Like 3 out of 7 days a week.

Because it's hot as hell in southern California, I get up at 7am and sleep around 2am. I do take 3 hour naps almost on a daily basis to somewhat recover the sleep I miss at night because sleeping when the A/C is freaking amazing. Unfortunately, I still live with my parents (hopefully I'm out by end of next year) otherwise I'd have the A/C blasting 24/7.
In non-summer months, I usually still sleep around 2am and get up around 9am. Since I work 12-hr night shifts, I also sleep from around 9am to 4pm between work shifts. Fortunately, my body/mind loves sleep and I can fall asleep almost anywhere, any time as long as the room temperature is cool (lights don't bother me). My body is pretty good at resetting on my off-days from work and I easily go back to a regular sleep schedule.

I usually go to bed at like 2:30 AM and sleep at like 4AM while I wake up at 12-1PM.
If I have to get up early during the morning between 9AM-12PM like for work or something socially planned, then I'll go to bed and sleep a little early or so if I can.

I go to bed at 5-6 AM sometimes even later and wake up at 1 PM.
I end up taking 1 hour naps often when I can during the rest of the day, because 7 hours or less of sleep isn't enough for me.

Usually I try to go to bed around midnight and get up at eight. I used to do more 3 to 9 or 10, but my job starts at 8 when I sleep in it means I needs must wake up every half hour or so to check my phone. Not as restful as sleeping straight, so I try to go to get earlier.
Lately though I caught COVID-19 and the subsequent coughing and nasal congestion makes it really hard for me to fall asleep. I laid in bed for over an hour last night and couldn't fall asleep. Got up, popped 12mg of melatonin then got on the PC. In half an hour, I could feel it working then I fell asleep until noon lol. But I'd rather not have to resort to drugging myself every night, heh. |
