once again im stuck tryna understand canon vs noncanon in these "filler" episodes. first of all, are they meant to 'fill' the time or 'fill' the story? cuz when they run in line with the current story arc, they seem to do both.
i mean in this episode the scholarly priest mentions his and other monks relation to jutsu formulas. this kinda revelation is canon type material right??

Boring episode. Didn't care about the reunions. I did like the concept of failed fodder zombies who were genin.

Really, the only thing that was entertaining was Temari treating that ugly zombie who was in love with her when he was alive like crap. Then those two girls with her were like, "dude she already loves someone else. An intelligent guy." Then the guy accepted his sealing. Pretty blatant with the ShikaTema hint.

Next week looks to be our prerequisite Shino filler episode. Because they don't do anything with him in canon.

You know what I miss? when the fodder even though weak were still competant like back when sand and sound invaded konoha than the constant slap stick nonsence of the alliance shinobi.

One can hope that they will probably extend this filler some more, because it's likely to be the last.

The manga looks as if it's going to end pretty soon it seems, so they probably want to filler it up until they can coincide the end of the manga with the end of the anime.

Though, how many times have we speculated/hoped for that?

Shino vs Torune was nice.
Those two were some similar once.
It's a shame their choices put them on opposite sides.

There's a tweet from the series' director Hayato Date that says that after they animate volume 59 of the manga, the other five volumes currently left won't last for more than half a year, and he's not sure what to do about it. I think that gives some insight on the current long streak of fillers.

Can anybody give me a very very very in-depth, play-by-play scene-by-scene synopsis/runthrough of Ep. 317?

I normally, around 10 AM (Pacific Time) watch the episode on [WEBSITE REDACTED]. However, today shit happened, and then some more shit happened, and then some fuck happened too, and by the time I got the time to watch the site it was 2:30 PM. That site's copy of nthe epesiode has no video, only audio. Attempts to Google the episode led to failure after failure adfter dfailure.

I am trying to keep calm but I watch this show so regularly that I am angry beyond words at never ever ever ever ever ever getting to see the missed episoder vever ecver ever.

Somepody please please please tell me what i missed so i can stop atuisming.

Well it's official july is filler as well

the anime team really want the anime cancelled before the manga ends and at this rate I wouldn't be surprised to see Naruto join Bleach and Fairy Tail in the unfinished anime ranks.

Actually no, only the first episode of July is confirmed to be filler so far. Even though it is possible the entire month will be.

You don't seem to realize that Bleach (and I can guess even Fairy Tail) were taken off the air because the anime had caught up with the manga, and there was no more material to animate. Naruto right now is doing tons of fillers so it doesn't catch up with the manga, so it doesn't risk to get taken off the air.
Fillers don't pose any threat to the show well-being (Japanese TV ratings do just fine even during fillers), not doing enough fillers does. Go read my last post about the tweet by the series director.
