There hasn't been an arc that is as wholesome as Balbadd arc to date in the manga, but that's also because pretty much every single story arc post-Balbadd up till the most recent 'separations' arc has been a huge breather piece/calm before the storm, used as character introduction, world-building and set-ups for future arcs.

However, it's also true that everything after the Balbadd arc is like... developments and build-up many, many many times the scale that Balbadd's story ever was. So much so, in that the build-up itself already feels so great an experience. Truly, exciting times ahead.

The current arcs are the best we've had since Balbaad, especially for the world-building aspect of it.
We're finally getting to see other powerhouses around the globe, coming to realize "oh hey! The 7 alliances and Kou Empire aren't the only big-dogs in the world!". It's just so much fun reading the exploration of HogwartsMagnostat and Laem. I can't wait till we see more of Africa Carthage Cathargo.

151 was good, no doubt Hogwarts is an arc comparable to Balbadd, if not better.
I guess the anime motivated the translation group, the time between releases is extremely short. The only sad thing is they nearly caught up with the raws, so releases will be back to 1/week

Undoubtedly. The past 20 or so chapters has been most tantalizing, as the main characters jump into their respective movie roles, with excellent world-building and what looks to be a very strong set-up for their own arc's respective storyline.

It's hard to imagine that it's barely out of the prologue... and it's still very early into the first story of three/four.

What's impressive is, the world powers are actually pretty well balanced.

At one look, Kou Empire looks to be ahead with six dungeon clearers and many household users.
However, even though on a single unit basis the Dungeon beaters are the most powerful, and more powerful than the magicians as Yam mentioned, the sheer fact that Magnastat has apparently 500 hundred high-class Magicians, and thousands upon thousands of middle-class and lower magicians, more than make up for lack of djinn users.

Then we have the Laem Empire, which we know to comman an army of Fanaris.
I don't think the sheer brute power of an ARMY of adult Fanaris needs to even be explained.

There's no single faction that can steamroll the other, which makes for some exciting stage once any kind of major conflict happens.

That's right. He's still a magi though, just a very special one who shouldn't exist.

Additionally, all the current djinn were magi in their previous life (and part of Salomon's court).

So the king reincarnated as a magi, while all the magi from his court reincarnated as djinn.

This all probably happened according to Salomon's plan. He probably did all this to look for the next king of kings that would take his place (Alibaba), and prevent Al-Sarmen to obtain the throne for themselves.

There were 3 people in the panel who said Solomon was the king they 'chose',so the number of magi were probably 3. Not sure if the current djinn were magi, though they were his court or possibly holders of household vessels?

^???? i just said his stone does aladdins polar opposite. It GIVES him more power by ABSORBING more rukh. Not blocking out external rukh from enhancing his abilities like Aladdins

Considering that rukh exists in a magicians body as well, the fact that it 'absorbs' rukh was ambiguous. So I assumed that you meant the crystal absorbing his rukh.

Now I'm at chapter 93. And yeah, like I said before, the Balbadd arc was just plain incredible. I especially loved:

The final confrontation between Alibaba and Cassim (or was that Kashim?). Man, that was so epic. It also pretty much cemented Alibaba being my favorite character by far. I was also a little surprised that we got a timeskip straight after the end of that conflict. Well, not that I'm complaining, though. Anyway, while it's not as epic in scope, I am finding the Zagan dungeon arc quite entertaining so far. Man, the crazy designs of those dungeon creatures (and I loled at Amon's apparent "pregnancy" ).....

Considering the fact that

Alibaba and co. won the battle, but lost the war.

In the end Balbaad fell under the Kou Empire's rule, is a Republic in name only, and if not for Sinbad's political weight, Alibaba and his brothers would've been executed.

I loved how the series did not neglect or try to place lightly the fact that Balbaad, for all accounts, was ruined as a nation, and no amount of rhetoric that Alibaba, with the limits of his political influence could do to change that fact. He could only delay it, by virtue of his observation of Kougyoku's status and hesitation towards the marriage.

With the current reveals, it seems Magnostat is basically a Balbaad 2.0, where Cassim's uprising was actually successful. Oppressed people rise up, slaughter the kings, and become the next oppressive ruling cast.

It's even darker, grimmer reality, and this time around Aladdin doesn't have Alibaba by his side.
I wonder where this is headed, I'm sure Titus will stay by Aladdin's side since he's a loyal servant of a magi, but a lot of students are gonna buy into this SOB story brainwash.

I guess the fact that Dumbledore Moganet had white rukh, and ended 158 with a really striking 'we are different from the rest of humanity' line made me expect something more deep... especially since the whole 'human magoi factory' was really dark and despicably cruel.

I guess it's pretty effective, channeling a 'holocaust' documentary directly to the young magicians, but I also hope it's not as simple as that... given that so far, it's been implied that every other senior magicians bought into this sob story, and for all accounts, condone the human magoi factory.

Oh, the fact that there WAS a timeskip after Balbadd wasn't what surprised me. I was just a little surprised that it happened so SOON. Like, I figured that after Aladdin and co. settled the whole civil war conflict the next few chapters would be spent setting up future events (like seeing some hints of what other movements the Kou empire/Al Sarmen would make, maybe some more Sinbad shenanigans, etc.). But like I said, this is fine, too (in fact, I like this BETTER, make no mistake). All in all, this was still a great arc, no doubt about that!

Anyway, now to continue catching up....



Edit: Okay, I wasn't sure about him before, but now Hakuryuu is officially starting to grow on me:
