Dude...I JUST realized why the character designs looked so familiar. The novel artist is "Hidari" aka the novel artist for "Usotsuki Mii-kun to Kowareta Maa-chan" aka the story that shares the same writer and universe as Denpa onna!
Could this be foreshadowing for season 2 of Denpa onna!? |

Although the artist might be the same, it's not of the same universe, and Denpa Onna's illustrator's buriki so there's very little connection between these two. But I'm seriously up for more Denpa Onna, by this coming spring it'll have been 2 years since it aired. There's still a chance. I hope this turns out like Denpa onna too. I want it to have the same strange and relaxing appeal/atmosphere that attracted me to Denpa Onna. I think Shaft does well in adapting weird slice of life so I'm hoping...

The visuals are very enticing and neat to me. The plot isn't something I would expect, so it might be a surprise hit of the next season.
EDIT : The opening theme will be "Alteration" by ZAQ.

If you ask me the LN and the manga are a borefest. Even with knowledge of Japanese folks and myths, I found myself yawning a lot of times while reading (LN) even after the latest volume. This and IS are one of the two light novels that made me feel that way. Thankfully the IS anime is a success. The manga doesn't help at all. I feel that its one of the weakest this season if they'll cover just half of the story (just before Jo shows up). Its up to the director and his visualization if this series wants to win me back.

I'm not familiar with either the light novel or the manga so I find myself wondering how much this series incorporates Japanese folktales and myths? I didn't know such subject matter was related to the series as all. I obviously missed that, haha. |
