Anime for Children 7 and Under?
We finally got the 5 subbed episodes of Pandalian. My son loves them.
I'm looking for other fan-subbed or raw children's anime. Ones without lots of violence, and no suggestive content like gay relationships and such. Nudity is not a problem, if it's of the Magical Girl transformation type of nudity. We are gradually getting all of Miazaki's work on commercial DVD. I'm not sure if Pon Poko Tanuki will be age appropriate though. (Depends on how much they show what they can do with their private parts.) |

Once he gets a little older, he'll get to see all the great classic Warner Bros and Tex Avery animation. Right now, he's too ADHD to watch much violence without getting worked up though. |

YTV kids anime i watched when i was a child
you know whats perfect sailor moon, me being a guy watched this show when i was 5 years old when they were showing it on ytv, i mean it would be more like my little sisters would watch it even though they are 3 years old, but i would watch it with them. Pokemon, great kids anime, same goes with digimon Gundam wing, i watche that when i was about 9 years old on ytv, it may have violence, but its not the "blood violence" yugioh looks good beyblade also oh yah there is monster ranchers, yah that was a great show. and finnaly there was cardcapters which i watched when i was about 9 years old on teletoon. ofcourse all these shows i watched when i was a kid, a age when i would not think of these shows as animes till later on. To be honest you dont got to get these subbed kids anime, if you live in canada watch YTV, if you live in America watch Cartoon network. |

You might want to take a look at Animal Yokocho.
The show is aimed at children, but there is plenty of material mixed in that adults will find amusing as well. Fansubs of this show are listed on AnimeSuki. Plot summary from ANN: "5 year old kindergarten girl, Ami-chan, has a secret which cannot be revealed to anyone: that is, she spends her days with mysterious animals who come to her house. These animals include a rabbit by the name of Iyo, a bear named Kenta and a panda called Issa. They are actually from Anima Yokocho, the place that the secret door in Ami-chan's room leads to. And of course, other mysterious characters from Animal Yokocho will subsequently make their appearances as well..." |

um lets see neh...they're kinda girlish I guess but my 7yr old cousin watches em with me some times, "Petiet princess yucie", and "Di gi charat panyo panyo" is good for kids around that age I think.

Well. Ranma 1/2 is really fun to watch, even as a kiddy cause it has comical fightinh scenes. But the nudity is there also, so I'll leave it to your discretion. You may also wanna check out Gundam Wing, loved it as a little kid, love it now even.

Mr.Hawq - We have most of the Pokemon movies, one, Mew Two Strikes Back, in Japanese. And I have most of season one of Digimon Adventure in the form of Japanese Prerecord videotapes. (I used to be heavily into Pokemon and Digimon.)
We're not much into mech battles. I like a lot of Yugioh, but it's too violent for my son right now. Beyblade is too painful to watch, but I love Monster Rancher. Got most of it on tape. Though it was very hard to see the last episodes, as they kept skipping them on our local channel. (We call our son Genki a lot, because of the main character in Monster Rancher.) Card Captors is great. We need to buy the series. ---------------------------------------------------------- Wakoeme - Dogtato looks so cute! And he loves offbeat shows too. ---------------------------------------------------------- Furudanuki - Animal Yokocho looks great too. ------------------------------------------------------------ Nisemono - Di gi charat panyo panyo looks good, though we need to purchase all the Miazaki work first. I wonder if those Miazaki shows aired in Japan last month are going to be fansubbed or made available raw soon? ------------------------------------------------------------ Kaiko - The nudity in Ranma is OK, though we have to explain to him that the groping shown sometimes is a bad thing to do. We have a number of the episodes. I love the ones that introduce Ryoga. He doesn't see Ranma 1/2 much though, as there is a lot of hitting in it... Along the same line, a lot of Lum is very cute, and much of it is OK for him to watch. (He did cosplay as an oni based on Ten for 3 years at Ushicon.) =============================================== I plan to make some webpages on children's anime once we watch and get a lot of it. With lots of info and screenshots. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

I went straight ahead and showed my 6 year old cousin the rurouni kenshin OVA. He's around 10 now he didnt turn out to be a killer. He's a great kid imo. o-O
Hmm how about Prince of Tennis? Its good dont have much violance next to a few scene's where Echizen smack's the ball on his adversaries, but I dunno. Ill prolly end up beeing a bad parent. >.> |

Kappa no Kaikata looks like a good one. Seems to be an anime that appeals to little boys. I may need to be the one who plays it for him, as my husband doesn't like any scenes where animals poop. It's basically about a man who is trying to take care of a pet kappa. From what I know of kappas, there should be lots of bizarre situations in the anime. |
