yougetsu gave eigetsu life...eigetsu also said that yougetsu is in a deep slumber. yougetsu won't be coming out even when eigetsu drinks sake. shuurei and eigetsu got relieved from their positions. eigetsu will continue his studies with someone famous (I forgot his name) and shuurei will be temporarily unemployed. and also you-sensei called yougetsu byakuya. ryuuki asked shusui how to embroider surprisingly ryuuki is very good at it...way better than shusui. wonderful episode!

Wow I just watched episode 34. Can someone that has read the novels but ...

is Setsuna's wife actually married to all threee of the brothers or just to one of them. she talked about Setsuna-tachi as if was all three of them. If she has three husband she is the luckiest woman in that kindom, with exeption of courtesans

I don't have the novels but it seems that she is married to eldest of the 3 brothers.
At first she should have married the father of the 3 brothers but instead she fall for the eldest of the 3 brothers.

1-10 Subbed & downloadable
11-17 Subbed & viewable on Crunchy
18-34 no sub most watch Raw or chinese sub

S2 plot will end at the same point that book 12.

So far only main series 12 books + gaiden 3 books
Book 13 is scheduled for 1st Mai 2008.

Golthin are you noticing that from the Anime or novels? I have been able to make out some of the later episodes but my japanese is not that great so im sure there are things that I am missing, since Saiunkoku has some heavy dialog. If thats the case then my prediction might come true. I predicted right up till near the end Shuurei would always been worried about Seiran. But if a serious marriage proposal came along one that Ryuuki would actually consider it would make Shuurei think twice about her feeling for Ryuuki.

according to those 2 posts, there probably won't be a third season for a while. not saying that it's completely out of the question, but it's unlikely unless it doesn't follow the novels

I noticed that! I read the spoiler from novel 12 and the anime misses a lot of the internal strugles.

Same for the RinxYuushuun relationship.
For 10 years Rin proposed Yuushun to marry her during the autumn festival (like St Valentin). Yuushun refused every time until the Sa rebellion stuff was solved.
There are reasons why Rin is called the manliest woman of the Sa province. You can say that proposing marriage to Yuushun can be one

Some of the gaiden stories are critical to understand some characters psychology like Reishin ar Shooka.

Spoiler for post S2 speculations for SK experts only:

By the end of S2/Book 12 Ryuuki will have Ran Shueei & Jyuusan-Hime at his side but without the support of the Ran clan.
Others than the know support of Ryuuki, he is really alone with no official support from any Clan or any faction at the court.
Book 13 will probably have Li Kōyū forced to choice between Reishin & Ryuuki ( similitude with Ran Shueei ).

Reishin hate the royal family for what they did to Shooka so you can't count on him to support Ryuuki BUT he has also to deal with the traditionalists faction (Ou Ki, Anju, Kouki....) so his current position ( on strike ) is unmaintainable.

Shooka can save Ryuuki but he seems uninterested by the Saiunkoku politics. If he decide to join the Big Game, whoever he supports will have also the support of the Kou clan (Reishin will always side with he brother) & the Ran clan (The Ran triplets view Shooka as their big brother).

Shuurei is now alone in the censorate with Suou Shin being send in exil by Kouki at the end of Book 12. It would be interesting to see how she will do alone with people who dislike/despise her like Kouki or Seiga.

The mirror is broken so where are the 108 spirits will Shūsui be sent to play the ghosts buster ?
Will some kind of disaster strike Saiunkoku that every on-going plots & enmity most be put on-hold to face the crysis ?
Was Bara-hime one of the 8 ?
What's up with Shuurei boby ? Did her mom overdid it with her super-wish spell ?
What is so secret in the Yuushuun past that the author did her best to withhold the information from the avid readers we are ?

1 1/2 year for the novel translation and then another novel hmmm I wonder how long will it last? I think they're going to need 1-6 vols. before another season starts...

You're right I also noticed that the anime lacks in characterization but that is to be expected because of the screen time.
