Not just the character design, if you check out the covers, you will see a more than striking resemblance of postures. But I don't really mind, that is their business. She is just doing what the mangaka of vk ought to in the first place. (draw more bl in stead of whiny shojos!)

Is the manga actually classified as BL, or are the hints SO strong that people started calling it BL ? But didn't Sakurai said he won't do any more BL roles?

^^ Uragiri runs in Asuka Monthly which is not considered a BL magazine. Other Asuka series turned anime include Neo Angelique Abyss, Trinity Blood, Rental Magica, Romeo x Juliet, Saiunkoku Monogatari, Shounen Onmyouji, X, D.N.Angel, and Kyo Kara Maoh. Uragiri runs more towards the BL-ish side of the magazine's offerings. But it's not truly BL. More like it's been adopted by BL fans in the way that X, D.N.Angel, and Kyo Kara Maoh have been adopted by them (us).

Can't really say without spoiling, but there is definitely something in the air....because of certain circumstances. Nothing too physical though. So in a way, it's kinda a semi shounen ai.

There is a slight, noticeable hint but nothing major. I'm not a BL fan but I'm willing to watch this (bishies are too hot to ignore) and the BL hints aren't intolerable.

And the casts are something (recognized a few - because of someone rubbing off on me)...I knew Bunbun would love it. XD

It's hard to discuss this without going into spoilers, but I wouldn't undersell the BL aspects of this, they are clearly there.

That being said, this isn't like your typical shonen ai,;I can imaging it would have a similar crossover appeal as Vampire Knight; although not catering to straight males as much.

I really hope they don't make this crappily put together like past bl series or try to tone down the m/m romance. This is JC Staff though so hopefully they will do neither.

It's the music. That Gothic organ music has been most recently associated with VK. I wonder if the series' BGM will have the same musical feel?

Why am I so glad J.C Staff took this project instead of Studio DEEN?

Even if the PV only shows the best animated scenes, the animation is better then I expected for a female orientated series. Looks like there's plenty of BL undertones, not that it matters to me. I'm never impressed with these fantasy shoujo anime, I hope this series can proove to me that they're worth while.

The seiyuu cast list is still great <3 The only thing missing is OnoD.

All Kadokawa shows in CR seems to always expire 30 days after the final episode is released. It was so with Omamori Himari, it seems that way with this show as well.

I've seen a Chinese-subbed preview version of ep1 and it seems promising. A bit slow for me, but suitably intense and psychological. Vibes of older anime and of Kara no Kyoukai, for me. Good voices all round, both men and women. But the intense relationships (so far entirely non-sexual) are between men.
