Why did he have to die....He is the character I like the most in this anime besides the Elric Brothers! Its so unfair......Hope that the Elric Brothers will kill all the baddies!!!!!!

usualy i see stuff like this comming, but for once this suprised me, he was the coolest character outside the Ed/Al pair, he seemed to do his job in a way no other could match. and in the end he got to show that he had some 1337 skills after all.
I honstly started crying when that happened.

Ok, I knew this was coming since I had read the manga... but what I just saw was just too damn emotional!! Hughes was one of my fav character, and I thought he would have lived one way or another...... The last bit was really a hitter, especially when Mustang had tears in his eyes.... Losing a friend, man I feel for Roy man....

First, I have to ask about the rules. At what point should we stop using spoiler tags?
I suggest 3 hours after the ANBU/A-Keep release. And if someone reads a spoiler, they will just have to suit themselves. And the rules should be in the original post of the (every) Episode-thread.

Also... how do you make spoiler tags? Is it [.spoiler]---[/.spoiler] (without the periods)?
Spoiler:

Then how do you make a topic for the spoiler? [.spoiler="topic"]---[/.spoiler]?
Spoiler for Major spoiler for episode 53!!!!:

Yaaay! I think this should also be explained in the first post too. I have always been 'afraid' to read the episode-threads, since I've never wanted to be spoiled.

The death of Hughes-san was spoiled when I read the Episode 24-thread, because someone didn't want to write that it was a MANGA spoiler. People who spoil from the manga without warning should be banned and locked up in a prison cell forever with the key thrown away!

About the episode, yes I really liked it and it was stylefully done! The ending was A LOT better than the Nina-episode. I'm not talking about the end of the story, I mean the transition from the episode to the ED. In the Nina-episode, they went from Nina's death to "Kesenai Tsumi" (I think that's the title of the ED), which is too "happy" of a song, to fit the death of Nina. Once Nina died, one were in awe. And they never gave you any time to reflect on what had happened. That is why I think the ending of this episode was better. They even gave you time to cry! They also added things (like Elysia-chan crying) to make you cry even more! This is my favorite episode of all FMA-episodes!

Truly a very sad episode.
Not many characters make make you depressed when they die, only the great characters that you'll remember do.
Hughes was one of those great characters you remember. He wasn't the super-hero type, just a kind man who would help anyone who loved his family. It was funny and touching at the same time to see him go on about his daughter so much... It made it that bit more depressing to see his daughter crying at his funeral.

Why couldn't they have killed of Fuhrer instead!?

WHYY!? Oh God, why Hughes! Why!?

This anime is awesome.

but now I'm gonna need to bash my head on my desk a couple of times to stop feeling so bad for an anime character.

This anime is awesome indeed. A pretty sad episode. Should be interesting so see the Elric's brothers reactions. This anime takes so many freaking twists and turns. So great.
