They have underground bunker but it's restriction is very severe.

And yes, the arena barrier is strong unless you have Golem firepower or barrier Void attack, though I doubt the dorm and the main building had it, considering the classroom were fragile (Rin can easily break the walls, whereas she only able to dent the arena's door).

How about normal pilot suit for extra comfort?

Well... I guess that's kind of expected from a school.

Then again, the Carnage is going to sport a couple of beam cannons. While the cannons don't fire a stream of beam particles, it does fire charged, spherical shots.

I suppose the Academy's best bet is taking down the Carnage before it can fire the cannons.

Yes, yous till feel the pain. Because it's either the nerve system in the skin or the one in the musculature system that got damaged. (Pain are induced by breakdown of nerves)

Side note - Him and Ichika already work well together

They nearly beat the Sarashiki head......when she was fighting at 10% strength. They got creamed when she went all the way to 20%.

No.... Not really, but being a place where they train IS pilots, they probably bulk up the physical defenses after the last golem attack.... You know, just in case some countries did manages to have weapons of the same caliber.
