True, but you arrive at the forum link via the banner. Can you logically deduce another answer that fits the riddle as well as the banner? As you pointed out, it can't be the link for the banner because it requires external plug-ins to retrieve. Besides, maybe the riddle maker thought the obviousness of the answer is what made it hard to guess, because people would think "That's too obvious to be the right answer." But that's just my opinion. If you think felix is wrong, feel free to keep guessing. I'd actually love to see other answers because I'm stumped

The link to the banner does not require external plugins. I personally didn’t use any. Just press Ctrl+U and then Ctrl+F “h1”.

It's at the peak, there are several different colored lines in the rules, the rules are always changing, but the link to the rules will never change?

I dont think any riddles should still require such actions to be taken to get the right url as an answer. Wasn't the point of the contest to make members discover features of the forum and all that? The actions on your browser aren't part of that..

If it was, we’ve gracefully failed it.

(also, “browsing” the site requires a “browser”, and so actions on your browser…)

What hints? No hints have been posted for this riddle yet.

I did wonder if the answer was going to be too obvious that no one would think it was correct, or guess it really quickly. The author and I looked at a number of alternative versions, but he settled on the one posted. Looks like it was guessed really quickly.

Oh well, I'll put a new one up in a moment. Need to make sure I have the answers, as I don't yet for some of felix's submissions.

I'm pretty sure I've rejected all riddles that required you to look at the source code or perform similar actions that aren't in the scope of what a normal forum user might do (i.e. functions anticipated by the forum's developers). I think, you can right click somewhere and copy link/shortcut to arrive at all of the answers.

Pretty much, though a good proportion of the riddles I received had more clever tricks than searchable terms or procedural ways of locating content. :shrugs:

Oh right, didn’t send them to you for some of them.

(It’s not an error NW, we agreed on it being like that, as a difficulty check)

Just give the word, I will send them all to you.

So wait, what was the answer? I guess it was the forum link after all, though I think you should have clarified that.. just in case. And by hints I just meant the riddle in general, speaking of colours and such.

Felix was the one who posted it as an answer first, though.

Hmmm maybe instead of marking where there is treasure, it marks old/rusted and therefore worthless things?

Because the fansub group subforum has become old and almost pointless?

I got a few ideas from this riddle...

First maybe http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83, the Retired Subforum area since "Sad I am now, stranger in a foreign land.
My purpose, reversed. My will, no longer my own." refers to when one retired ones, people rarely visit it, and many topics are locked[and no new ones can be added].

I'll make a second of guess of the retied Shuffle subforum http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47 because since it had the most posts by far of the retired sections, which would seem to make it fit the first two lines to me.

And a third/last alternative guess, http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=1774 the "A Laugh A Day" thread, because originally it started out with simply word jokes or comic, and now it's almost entirely youtube videos additionally the original poster hasn't visited in a long time thus it could be called a stranger and maybe againist their will?

Riddle is talking about an x. But instead of signifying the location of treasure, here x signifies neg rep. So rather than having positive connotations, it has negative connotations, which is what the purpose reversed refers to.

http://forums.animesuki.com/images/a...ons/report.gif

Same reasoning, but I decided not to take the x literally.

Perhaps just the reputation faqs, since reputation doesn't have much of a purpose other than to be fun, and you receive or loose reputation against your will.

http://forums.animesuki.com/faq.php?..._as_reputation
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=26418

Or maybe the "Username Change" thread. It's a bit of a stretch, but usernames are usually important to a person, and once changed, even without a purpose given, they become someone new and foreign... E: Never mind on the purpose part, I thought it said "reserved" instead of "reversed" so this is probably wrong.

Two guess that riddle makes me think a thread about "One Piece" the treasure in the show http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=16388 guessing because the show/manga still hasn't gotten to it .

Or second the One Piece subforum http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29 because the it's much more restricted thread wise than at it's creation, different thread/topic set-ups, and less active than in the past.

Probably wrong with both, but felt I should try them anyways .

One Piece is all about pirates and treasure, etc. As for why I chose spoilers, it's because spoiler tags are like a big "x" that warns people who don't want to know what happens so that they can stay away from it.

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=102308
Well even the name has an X in it But similarly, the mutant x gene is considered undesirable by most normal people and even some mutants themselves. Also stranger in a foreign world could refer to the disparity that mutants feel they have with the rest of the world.
