That means she's obviously been designed well. A great looking troll that taunts both the readers and the heroes.

Well, it's not like she has any particular reason to care about the heroes, so why are you expecting her to treat them with any sort of positive regard?

Another point worth noting is that apparently Hayate still has one of those limiters in effect...

...on the other hand, if she can run around flinging spaceship-sized icebergs, this may explain why.

I'm not. But if you make more than one villain that's specifically designed to be smug and irritating, have them get karma sooner rather than later.

Karma's a load of BS in the first place.

Smug and irritability are purely subjective. You could even look at Nanoha saying "I won't listen to you and save you" to Thoma as being extremely smug.

Preaching to the choir, man.

And using musical notes to mock someone trying to arrest you for mass murder is, what? Cheery? Funny?

The ultimate troll sign? Then again, it's not like Hazama from BB needed musical notes to get people to hate him.

Well yeah, shows she's cheery and playful, rather than doing what she did out of spite or hatred. If she was, Hayate certainly wouldn't be alive right now.

Yes, taunting the girl you just stabbed to prevent her from apprehending your family of killers is very playful.

Note that when she stabbed Hayate, everything was serious business. It's only when everything's fine that she's nice. She also directly stated that she'd have killed Hayate if had gone off, sooooooo.

That's still well within reason. Some one's gonna drop a hunk of ice on your family. How else you gonna react?

Oh, my family that can regenerate from all wounds, and wouldn't have been fatally harmed anyway?

Stop bringing these real-life situations into this. It's annoying.

It was aimed for the ship, the ship can't regenerate.

Also it would hurt, and she is just defending her family, as illogical and unnecesary as that sounds/is.

Yes it can. This was established earlier.

And I agree it makes sense. But can't you do that in a likeable way? I kind of assumed she was complimenting Hayate there in the RAW, but apparently not.

Then you should stop complaining about the Huckes. I'm pretty sure you already made the point that you hate them and want them to burn in hell. The way you keep bringing this up just makes you annoying.

If Tsuzuki makes them likeable, I might.

But that hasn't happened.

Yeah, I mean, say a family members of yours gets seriously, but not fatally, wounded in a car accident. Are you just gonna shrug it off and say "Oh well, they'll heal from it"?

Try putting the shoe on the other foot. Imagine the Huckebein family were the protagonists of this manga, and the big bad Bureau comes and attacks them in an attempt to capture them. I bet a lot more people would be supportive of them then.

Think of an anime like, say, Eureka 7. You got a rebel faction on the run from the government, killing and doing whatever they can to survive. Said rebel faction are the protagonists and the audience is expected to cheer for them.

It's a matter of perspective.

Eureka 7 was also a very idealistic series, I feel I should note, so it worked there. It also worked in As, because it was far different from this. Both also had selfless motivations to their rebels.

And unless you remove the killing aspect of the Hucks, I'd still be more inclined to cheer for the Bureau, at least without completely changing their personalities. Which would actually work pretty well here, since there's a certain gap between what they're supposed to be and what they are.

Honestly I think people get too hung up on the "They kill people" thing, especially when they've gone so far to show that they try not to kill when they can avoid it.

Well, their fundamental motivation is to protect their family. You have to admit there's nothing inherently wrong about that.

The whole 'Killing People Need' from the Eclipse virus is akin to needing to take a big bathroom break. Sure you can hold it for a while but when ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
