You have to be a coward at first, stay behind or around your heavies and mediums, and look for weakened or soft targets to hit when the game is in the ending phase. Instead of thinking "I'm gonna go out and take that position" you have to think "I'm gonna wait till my team starts to take that position and when they start getting shot at I'll go into the enemy position and shoot them in their asses, then run away laughing and reloading"

Also, by Kamijou's standards, apparently I am a "specialist" in like four different countries.
- Soviet TDs (both lines)
- German mediums
- German heavies
- Chinese lights
- French lights

But I consider myself only a specialist in the Pz IV and maybe the Soviet TDs. I certainly don't feel like a good E50 player.
if you have at least one tier 8 tier in each nation your considered a national specialist, if you have a tier 9 or 10, your considered a elitist. Q/Tak is trying to get his IS 7... wonder if he got it yet.

anyways thats going by my standards. RRW would be a US turret TD specialist, but since i got the T30 i took the title of elitist from him. ES has the title of german td specialist, but idk if i really can call him that, seeing him play compared to Pen's play, Pen is more of a specialist. Wil can be german specialist, since dai/sume has a tier 9 and 10, she's an elitist.

UTE/Endless is also up in the specialist in the germans tanks, as well as Teru/Myssia. Q/Tak is and elitist, but still complains about the E75, meh i don't mind it tho.

i'm still looking for our chinese specialist, no one in our clan got higher than tier 6. Juke is travelling prolly went to china maybe visiting relatives or what not. he's been doing the chinese line. I'm doing the chinese on my other account, but I won't seriously play my other account much. but i'll go on it to convert xp to free xp on my elited tanks.

actually if you got past tier 8 you rank elitist by nations that you have tier 9 or 10 in.

specialist would be tier 7 and 8.

generalist is tier 5 and 6.

while noobs are tier 1 - 4.

I rank generalist in every other nation.

In that case;

Elite: German Henschel line (E-75), Soviet IS line (IS-8), American medium line (M46 Patton). I guess the Soviet light line should count too (T-50-2).

Specialist: Soviet KV line (KV-4), German Porsche line (Tiger P), American heavy line (T29), German medium line (Panther II). The Soviet arty line probably goes here (S-51).

Heh, I am pretty spread out.

yeah scouts and arties rank differently, only AMX and VK and T71 and crusader lights use the same ranking system in my standards.

tier 1 - 2 nubs/generalist
tier 3 - 4 specialists
tier 5 - 6 expert
tier 7 - 8 elitist

since scouts mainly go up to tier V, u can't get higher than expert. so it does really matter, u mastered the scout line for that nation.

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

And yet ace badge on the American heavies eludes me, you'd think it would be easier considering they're less popular.

In other news sniping camping heavies are really pissing me off the last few days. I wonder if there's a correlation between having a low win % and tending to snipe as a heavy.

I'm slightly amused at the "specialist" discussion. For all I care they're just a stupid categorization.

yeah but some heavies are for sniping like the Tiger and BP, T29 can do both.

and Dai, i'm not forcing u to be in the specialist discussion. stupid as it maybe, its based off of tiers, it would be impossible to base it off of skill per tier.

either way i'm happy about my elite status in a lil over 3 months now. now thats wat u call a blitz to tier 9 and 10. with a WR of a solid 53% wit 4.6k battles.

Last night before sleeping I had the most bizarre battle OF ALL TIMES in my IS-3.

Encounter in sand river. Basically a platoon of 3 (2 T34s and a T32) curbstomped the half of our team in the first 3 minutes. Then I appeared before them to try to gain some time while our meds and a KV-5 started cap.

Here's the bizarre part: I opened fire against one of the T34 destroying his gun and killing the commander & gunner on the process. Then the other T34 and T32 started to fire at me with all their might, but somehow I managed to bounce all their shells, while the enemy arty was keeping me tracked on the spot. An AMX 12t tried to cross, but I managed to track him and let the rest of my team take care of him. The part was that my armor bounced or absorbed all the shots that where made to me (even some arty shells bounced) while I held the ENTIRE flank all by myself while my HP didn't went down from 70%. We won by capping at the end, and the enemy team was cursing about how I stopped their advance just by siting there.

Of course, that platoon was calling me hacker after that.

Sadly, I had recording turned off and i was too sleepy to take some screens. But I got a cute Iron Wall medal.

WN7 is another "skill measuring metric" like efficiency. Difference is (or was) that efficiency was developed by some guys in Russia for the RU server and heavily emphasizes capture and defense points, where as WN7 analyzes and weighs average tier and damage dealt per game more. It's developed by someone on the NA WoT forums.

Thinking about giving this one a try, assuming my laptop can run it (toooo lazy to turn on the desktop these days.. the bed is comfy!)
The website leads me to think there's a US and EU version, if so, where does everyone here play? (And is it possible for someone in the EU to play in US servers and vice versa?)

To give some perspective, I play on a laptop exclusively, a Toshiba Satellite M645. It has a 2.4-GHz Intel Core i5-450M CPU and 4GB of RAM. I play on low graphics settings, and it does OK. Although I do have to do things to make sure it gets enough heat ventilation when I play. I hear Sumeragi plays on a 5 year old laptop, and she does pretty good.

I have my doubts that my laptop will be able to run it, but it's a small download anyway so there's no harm in trying. Should be enough to give me a first impression anyway.

Downloading the US version now. Hopefully there won't be latency issues.
