If you search just a bit throughout the internet, you'll see that there are a lot of negative comments as well. I already mentioned what I disliked:

- bad pacing
Everything happens too fast and without the proper transition between one event to the next. They're just blended in an odd way. Nothing flows well. And this is more of a personal thing, but I think the whole ilusion thing was unnecessary. It took a lot of time, it wasn't original and it killed the participation of the other characters. Persona 4 the Animation: Yuu Narukami's journey for the Social Links.

- bad (horrible) animation
4-5 months, and the episode looks dreadful. On normal circumstances, I don't even mind the animation. But in this case, it looks so poor I was actually amazed.

- poor choice of songs
Mainly the scenes in which the team is swallowed up and the battle against Izanami. For some people, this might seem like a minor thing, but it isn't. It affects the atmosphere of the scene, and I couldn't take the scene in which everyone "dies" seriously because of the song (why? why car chase?). And Izanami was so insignificant she had I'll Face Myself -Battle- as her battle song. Sure, it was a remix, but even so lol

- poor direction
This pretty much goes along with the pacing.

To sum up, I don't mind character development for Narukami, but I'm against it if they have to sacrifice everything else for it. Izanami's participation in the episode was bland and forgettable (to the extent that Margaret's battle seemed more important). I also didn't like Margaret's battle; like I said previously, too many things happening too fast. It was more of a "show off of Personas" than anything else. In that department, Mitsuo's battle was way superior. Albeit I'll concede that its insertion in the plot was interesting.

You two might have liked it (and, while I respect your opinion, I can't help but feel sad about it), but for me it was a failure. The idea behind it might have been interesting, but the execution was exceptionally flawed.

Well, at least they won't touch Persona 2, so I'm fine with them destroying P3.

Seriously?
This may be down to personal preference, but I think Car Chase is a fantastic track for this series and I was seriously happy getting to see it shine in a scene other than the obvious one it was intended for. I thought it fit the scene great, the song has a sense of urgency to it that worked well with Yu panicking over everything happening around him.

"The Genesis" is too long and slow for the scene outside the parts when the instruments climax into the main tunes of "Reach out to the Truth" and "I'll Face Myself -Battle-" to the point where it probably WAS a better idea to just go with one of the two instead of trying to force Genesis in. Honestly I thought I'll Face Myself -Battle- worked well for the scene, and I don't see why it'd somehow make Izanami "insignificant".... "Mist" may have worked for the scene, but this is the final battle of Persona 4 we're talking about, so going with a more symbolic tune was probably the better choice imo.

So yeah, I completely disagree with you saying they're not using the music well.
While your points on pacing and animation have a bit more merit, I still have to say that in the end I really enjoyed this episode, and loved Persona 4 the Animation as a whole.

I have mixed feelings about this episode. I really liked the bit where it focused a bit on Narukami's hidden side. The strange anachronic order of events, I could do without, however.

Also, I wish to see the opinion of somebody unfamiliar with the game. Somehow I feel like they won't really "get" this Izanami thing.

Hmm, I enjoyed the final episode, but I kind of wish the fight with the ex-wife had a more impressive summoning for the husband.

I wont say its perfect...
But i will say it is good. A nice way to close the series.
Now i will wait for P4G to get the 100% feel...

Hmm I admit the pacing seemed rushed and I was hoping for at least an hour episode to make things flow better, and after all this time why couldn't the animation for the episode be improved? It definitely felt like it was rushed I'm sorry but I agree with Yuna Amakura on those aspects. Plus I felt confused when they showcased all the social links mainly because I couldn't recognize all the voices >_<

Overall though it was still enjoyable, and I loved the remix of the Velvet room Song as Yu fought Margaret.

Well, just because they saved this episode for like months later doesn't mean they spent months of effort on it.

My biggest complaint? The mega fusion didn't happen instead it's just him popping up. The final battle didn't have much bang as I would have loved it to be.

However, I really love the adaptation in this episode, the use of the loop mechanic and the persona fanservice reminded me of my favourite episode 12. I love the way the studio incorporate side missions into the main story and this episode is no exception.

This is a story about Narukami, after all. I love his progression ever since ep12, from a quite fellow to such an awesome Banchou.

I didn't think it was a terrible job, but would have preferred them to take the game approach more exactly in this case. Yeah, it was a decent way to slip in a Margaret fight, but they were having to rush the whole thing so much the fight had less impact. I mean spent very little time actually fighting her.

Could say there wasn't enough time, but then why not just split this into two episodes? Of course to be fair I wasn't much of a fan of the getting trapped in an illusion thing that they pretty much borrowed straight from episode 12. Didn't care much for it the first time around anyways. Gave a good effort to mix things together with the limited time.

In the end it's kind of fitting anyways that the very last episode has some pacing issues. Figured months ago that there was no way it'd be a smooth result if they tried to fit the entire Izanami story into one episode. Kind of went as expected there.

Still despite it not being perfect a good nod to the game.

True End review:
* 25 Director's Cut: I'm glad the Ameno-sagiri battle was extended. Now it's an actual threatening fight, rather than the original lame fight. That said, I'm surprised that the farewell scene was still included, rather than flowing directly into the True End with Adachi's letter.
* We actually get to see what happened to Namatame: He's still in jail. In the game he's unmentioned in the ending. I'm surprised he's not in some sort of mental institution though.
* The groundhog day scenario is lame and wastes time. It's nice to finally see Yu's Shadow, but it only has to be done once right when Izanami's tentacles are swallowing Yu up and he's losing hope, not over and over again. It was probably done to cheap out on the Izanami battle, because heck we don't even see the Personae of any of the other members at all, just them getting swallowed up.
* Having Margaret slap Yu to his senses and making him earn the truth crystal (as opposed to just giving it to him in the game), was a creative way to squeeze in the optional boss fight, and a less boring way of reminding him of the power of his friendship (as opposed to each person speaking over his unconscious body). It would have been more effective to show a brief cameo of each Social Link partner before Yu summons the Persona of their Arcana though, because quite frankly even I had trouble remembering who was whom.
* The farewell scene again, but this time the True End version. The non-party Social Link partners don't even get a group cameo waving goodbye.
* Episode 26 is 30 minutes long. "The Genesis" is ~15 minutes long, and the first 11 minutes contain a looping theme with additional buildup each time that can be condensed. It would have been possible to fit in "The Genesis" by starting a condensed version of the first ominous 11 minutes at her revelation at the gas station and through Narukami's delusion. Switch to "Reverie" during the Margaret fight where Yu resolves his loneliness and extremity of his desire for friendship, and go back to the final three minutes of "The Genesis" (a reprise of "Reach Out to the Truth") when Yu wakes up and summons Izanagi-no-Okami.

Anyway, yeah my previous review months ago stands. P4A is a 7/10 show, taken by itself. The best parts were where it supplemented the game, rather than where it tries to squeeze in the plot. Given the way the writers were able to combine the Social Link plots into the main plot in a sensible manner, it's clear that they were very familiar with the game material. But they were constrained by a two-cour length, and either through directives from superiors or their own ambition tried to squeeze in enough material for a three-cour show, which resulted in much rushing and many half-assed parts, especially many of the non-party member links.

Yes, the show could have been better, but the same can be said of most adaptations, which inevitably get judged against their originals. As far as P4A goes, it's definitely good enough that I don't think we need to deny its existence.

*Facepalm* They're fully aware he can come back but that doesn't change the fact that after a year of being used to someones presence and company and compared to how much little they're going to see each other even when he does visit parting can still be such sweet sorrow.

You know, I always like that power of friendship scene when fighting Izanami in the game... and now they showed us THAT scene with Margaret fight and that OST remix at the same time? damn it was really awesome.

Oh and I was hoping for some Izanagi x Izanami scene too I guess since it didn't happen in the game then they wouldn't even make it in the anime either.

Watching the True Ending, it sure definitely felt rushed. There could have put more content from the game into this episode. Of course, it could be due to P4G. Didn't know Sentai got reverse importation and release BD only in English dubs, which sucks big time. It was a decent effort, but Yu didn't get to do an awesome fusion like he did with Lucifer.

I haven't played the game so my opinion as anime-only watcher was that True End was OK. It was a bit rushed but the animation was serviceable and the music fitting. They had a bit of fun with the Endless Eight scenario, that was rather amusing and in the spirit of the anime.

Well, I saw some of the previews for the dub version, and I gotta say, for all those hatin on Erin Fitzgerald as Chie's new VA, she actually does a real good job. I swear if Yuri Lowenthal wasn't a VA he'd rock as a stand up comic with his Yosuke character>v<.
