Fortunately for those women who will be so tragically denied your glorious, sensitive affections, there are men who appreciate a slender, gravity-resistant physique.
(I am personally a man who appreciates all fine examples of femininity, even if my bony frame has instilled in me a preference for women with at little padding.)

Also, this:

Whether or not you agree with him, I give him points for not being one of those typical humans who bullshits his way through life. At the very least, he's being honest about his preferences.

I agree with Archotic. Everyone has their own preference of their own dream girls/guys. No need to attack other people's opinion since opinion is opinion, open to agreements and disagreements.

But one this I'd like to say: King, could you not have said that a little bit less tactless? There might be girls who cry themselves to sleep because they have the stuff they turns you off.

Heck, I can't fault any one for having preferences in the opposite sex. I can fault some one for being a jerk about it, though.

I'm not normally one to expect every one to be tactful (the fact that some are willing to eschew it keeps the world turning, I think), but there are a few areas where it's mandatory.

Exactly. Also, self-important people can use some prodding.

Dang... I had a topic in class about "the feminine mystique," and it talks about how women are pressured by society to look skinny and have big whatever, and this and that. I am dumbfounded that women follow these type of guys, who obviously pay attention to the exterior. But I blame the media the most for emphasizing what "hot women" are suppose to be like. Although this doesn't mean I don't look at the exterior either, because trust me, it's very tempting, but I would still preach about not going through surgeries.

But, while were at it, I prefer the "fit" type with a pretty face.

You'd be suprised how hard that can be....people of both sexes have a tendency to want to 'change' something else in our SO we don't like. Still though, some will accept you for who you are and not wanting to change you too much...lol.

There is probably a great deal of truth to that statement. "You adapt to what you experience" (I used another phrase, but the double-entendre potential was too high). This is true about many things, but sex especially. Think about how else your pornography has messed up your way of thinking... Likely in subtle ways you wouldn't begin to think of without the experience of having been experienced without it (and not just in things you'd normally associate with sex).

Of course, it's not just porn. It's everything else in life, but again, the influence created by sexuality is far stronger and more direct than most other casual influences.

As you ponder how you've deviated from where you'd be naturally and how to get back, though... You might be careful of how you express yourself when the self-esteem of young women is at hand (but it looks like you've already taken that to heart. )

Well, I've seen some hot women in my time, and been with some in flings, but that doesn't mean that I (or many of the people I know) expect our dream women to look like Raven Riley or something. I think that porn primarily affects the standards of those who rely entirely on it to sate their sexual impulses. (read - fat chicks need love, too).

Incidentally, anyone who says that they don't care at all what a woman looks like is probably lying. Everyone has taste and preferences and is superficial to some extent. It's an undeniable fact that is carried throughout EVERY species on the planet, and that is searching for an adequate mate. You may be more willing to love a woman who's seen as less than attractive by the general populous, but everybody has some sort of standards.

..Then again, there are guys like Henry Kissinger and Hugh Hefner who can talk their way into bed. That's another story, though.

Also, I believe that finding someone who accepts you entirely without question takes a lot of the spice out of a relationship. Part of what makes a strong and lasting relationship is getting through hard times and disagreements, and whether or not you want to believe it, making certain sacrifices. If both partners sacrifice a part of themselves, no matter how small it may be, and each shows affectionate appreciation in some way (though there are many ways or displaying affection, and some who display much less than others), then that strengthens the bond tenfold.

There's also some good advice from Silent Bob in the movie "Chasing Amy." I know that most of it is an absurd comedy, but the speech that Bob gives is absolutely fantastic. Here it is, for those of you who've been deprived of a fantastic movie.

Dumb move, I know, but you know how it is - you don't really want to know, but you just have to... stupid guy bullshit. Anyway she starts telling me all about him - how they dated for years, lived together, her mother likes me better, blah, blah, blah - and I'm okay. But then she tells me that a couple times, he brought other people to bed with them - ménage a tois, I believe it's called. Now this just blows my mind. I mean, I'm not used to that sort of thing, right? I was raised Catholic.

So I get weirded out, and just start blasting her, right? This is the only way I can deal with it - by calling her a slut, and telling her that she was used - I mean, I'm out for blood I want to hurt her - because I don't know how to deal with what I'm feeling. And I'm like "What the fuck is wrong with you?" and she's telling me that it was that time, in that place, and she didn't do anything wrong, so she's not gonna apologize. So I tell her it's over, and I walk.

It was a mistake. I wasn't disgusted with her, I was afraid. At that moment, I felt small - like I'd lacked experience, like I'd never be on her level or never be enough for her or something. And what I didn't get was that she didn't care. She wasn't looking for that guy anymore. She was looking for me, for the Bob. But by the time I realized this, it was too late, you know. She'd moved on, and all I had to show for it was some foolish pride, which then gave way to regret. She was the girl, I know that now. But I pushed her away...

So I've spent every day since then chasing Amy... so to speak.
Now, for a long time, I treasure the idea of virginity and "purity," but believe it or not, that shit did have a profound effect on me. I looked back at my life, and realized that it did affect how I looked at a lot of women. I realized that it was stupid.

As far as advice goes, I think that everyone should realize that virginity, in actuality, doesn't mean shit. Saving yourself for somebody and all of that is great, but if the opposite isn't a virgin or has done some incredibly wild shit, or used to be a slut, don't let that get in the way of a relationship. What happened, happened. Live for what that person is now, not what they used to be or used to do.

Excellent and accurate post from start to finish (forgot to put my name on the positive rep, but that was me), but since it would be silly to just add a "That's right!" comment to the entire post, I chose this point in particular to second.

As some one who places the highest of value on moral living, who is saving himself sexually for many reasons (the most important of which being the peace of mind of my future wife), and who hopes to find a wife who's done the same...

The point isn't having always succeeded at doing the right thing. Despite all the temporal consequences, everything a person has done wrong can be washed away and made irrelevant in terms of their character. No matter who you've been, the most important thing is who you are and who you're becoming. The same should be our rule of measure for all others.

For we Christians/Jews, that has great spiritual meaning, but it's also a secuar truth.

my dream woman would be someone who would be able to remind me of all the little details that i keep on forgetting. i'm semi-flexible with all the other stuff (physical preferences and such)... in a way. sometimes it's the little details that make me lose interest, and i have an iron-clad list of turn-offs, sadly.

she don't have to be perfect, but she has to be nice looking over-all to me, I do want some bounce in the chest and some junk in that trunk of course the condition that she accepts me for me and doesn't try to change me to only benefit herself.

Great post, though I disagree with most of this. If I were in a long-term relationship and she told me that she used to be a goddam slut but now she has a conservative view toward relationships.... it would be the same as if I told her that I used to murder people who pissed me off but now I'm different. She and I could even give a long list of reasons why promiscuity and murderousness are mostly bad for society and the people involved, proving how we both are committed to this new life.

But then, only God, Beldandy, and maybe Harumi knows if a person has really changed... and during times of stress she would probably look at me with fear when I held a knife, and I would do the same if she were talking on the phone to another man more than usual.

Kyuusai's idea of "peace of mind for a future spouse" is a great benefit of clean living... it makes it stress-free to hold sharp objects and talk on the phone to the opposite sex amongst other things.

In reference to earlier in your post... I think that deep down inside himself, Silent Bob also wanted this trust in a wife or long-term relationship... probably because sexual monogamy is very important to him. More so than the pride and hot memories that result from screwing lots of sexy people.

This relates to the OP too... each one of us should pick one or the other for ourselves, and look for the same in a man/woman.

Personally, I would love to find a girl kind, honest, and beautiful. But not media beautiful, just someone who's wise and compassionate. Of course physical appearance can never be eliminated as an issue so I would choose moderately petite.
