One Piece Discussion thread. One or Many?

Regulars to this forum may have noticed that the
Episode 87/88 Discussion [Spoilers]
thread has been renamed to
Episode 89 Discussion [Spoilers].

I would like to know what people would prefer concerning the discussion thread.

There are two main choices proposed (and two alternatives).

Option 1 - Single Thread
Have a single thread for all One Piece discussion, renamed each time a new episode is released. The same thread remains open (as a sticky) and it will contain all the discussion pertaining to the latest episode (as well as all the previous episodes). A post can be made to show the switch to the latest episode (example) and at the same time the thread title will be updated.

Option 2 - Multiple Threads
Have a new thread created and stickied each time a new episode is released. The previous discussion thread will be unstickied but it will remain open if people want to post further comments on the older episodes. This is how the Naruto episode discussion threads are currently handled.

Option 3 - Don't Mind
You don't really mind which option is taken.

Option 4 - Neither
If you think there is a better solution, then please post your ideas. Please note that I will not hunt you down and kill you unmercifully (well, not much) if you dare vote for this option. And I might even listen to you Joking aside, post some alternatives if you think they are better than the above.

There are pros and cons for either selection.

Option 1 - Since the One Piece discussion isn't a great as (for example) the Naruto discussion threads, it may be more preferable to maintain just a single sticky. But over time it will become quite large and may put people off from reading or posting.

Option 2 - Having multiple threads makes it clear just what is being discussed and may serve as an indicator on how popular an episode is. But it may be confusing having multiple threads lying around and due to the unknown release dates of the episodes it may lead to some inconsistency on discussion (or lack of).

So, what would people prefer
I hope I've made it clear what's trying to be achieved here. Please ask if it doesn't make sense.

Note: If Option 1 is selected, an alternative to renaming the thread each time a new episode comes out would be to just rename the thread Episode Discussion [Spoilers], that way there's no need to edit the threads title. Please don't worry about this at the moment, it can be decided once we know which of the above two methods is preferred.

As you know xris, I'm a fan of the single Episode Discussion Thread. Threads that have only 1-2 pages every week seems kind of useless. It's not as organized as having separate threads but so far only a few people come here and they're all regulars so they won't get confused.

When we see more and more people posting here, I think that's the time we should have seeparate threads.

Me goes with Dranz and Sai, since episodes threads normally have like 1-2 pages, and Kaizoku-Fansubs release the episodes on a very inconsistent rate, there's no use in creating a new thread every time one episode comes out, but you mods must not forget to rename the thread when the episode comes out otherwise people will want to post what they liked about new episode and won't be able to so Dranz, xris don't forget

If you read what xris, he said he'll rename the thread to just "Episode Discussion Thread".

I, changing my opinion from a previous thread, go with the 1st option too, by the same reasons stated by Dranz-san.
A single thread to discuss all episode is the best for this forum. Better than having 20+ threads with 2 pages of posts.

I have to go with Multiple threads.. if someone just started watching One Piece, and wants to see a old discussion or something about it, all theyhave to do is search for it... and now keep going thru pages of a single thread seeing possible spoilers... so i shall go with Option 2

i voted alternative

i know that i am not as active as the other members that posted before me but i already watched many of the episodes even after what k-o released but i am going to watch them non the less after 2 weeks or more.

my alternative is that it should be segregated into arc episode discussion meaning alabasta arc episode discussion once it finishes we go for the skypiea arc episode discussion and so on

Mutiple threads aren't really a good idea for this forum becuase the single episode dicussion threads barely go over 1 page of discussion. So my vote has to go for a unified episode dicussion thread (option 1). Besides, if the thread gets to big then we can just replace it with another one. If any thing, we can make a dicussion thread for 10 episodes and then start a new one for another 10 episodes.

The arc thing sounds pretty cool to me as an alternative. I prefer to have one whole discussion thread, but maybe though who'd rather have multiple threads think over this new suggestion.

Ok I really didn't think I cared either way on this one tell 91 came out, A discussion thread was made just for 91, and the one at the top still hadn't bin change to say anything but ep. 90 disscusion, now what I posted is gone cuz you guys deleted the ep. 91 thread i guess. I don't like the 1 episode thread mainly cuz its unorganized and stupid, I don't see the point of doing it at all, are you trying to make there be less posts on this forum ?.

But even if I don't like it you guys will still do it, so if you insist on doing it this could you be alittle faster on the changeing of the name of the Ep. disscusion thread, it didn't get changed to 91 tell like the day after 91 came out.....thanx

Actually, your posts were not deleted, all that happened was the separate Episode 91 thread was merged with the existing sticky Discussion thread (and then the sticky was renamed). If you look at this post I bet it's the one you think had been deleted).

I had a look at the Admin logs and there were no One Piece threads deleted during the time of Episode 91 being released (11th to 13th April).

As to why it's all in one thread, it's because more people have expressed an option to have only one thread.

And the fact the sticky was a day late before it was renamed, if it annoyed you so much, you could have always sent me a PM reminding me the new ep had come out.

I like the idea by whatever123, to create a new sticky whenever a new story arc appears (or maybe every 10 epiosdes).

I vote for the arc thread idea as well. I would prefer multiple thread discussion, but this sounds like a good compromise of both to me.

Hmm, the Arc Thread is a very good idea. But no problem if the one-thread-discussion-scheme keeps going.
