Maria: Index ++

Yukimura: Sorry, I still prefer Hideyoshi.

Rika: My god, that was one hell of a scene and one hell of a performance from Fukuen Misato. Mecha-porn FTW!!!

Episode 3 was golden. Dear god I would die a happy man if I got to go to the pool with a girl like Sena. I call her bluff on being able to swim though... it is impossible for someone to learn that fast. I know this is anime but still. And the addition of an overarcing plot at the end was a nice touch.

Episode 4 was hilarious. Oh man. The mecha and sex friend part was so funny.

This is a really fun guilty pleasure.

I mostly remember intellegent people be more controled and secretive about their pervertions. Rika on an other hand ... what a performance. Just imagine Sena getting corrupted to that point.

This week's episode felt cramped, three new characters in one episode I think it is too much. Also I got the impression that the episode ended too soon. The remaining(?) characters were introduced and it suddenly stopped.

She overdid isolating herself and never got bullied in the school people comments how beatiful she is probably she just doesn't want other people to approach her, Accelerator pretty much have every mad scientist, military, etc after him day and night I still wonder how managed to have a heart until the end.

You can't confirm or deny any speculation using your knowledge of the source. A comment like "don't believe everything you read" coming from someone who knows what's going to happen sure reads like a hint/spoiler. Of course, I have no idea what's going to happen, so I don't know if it's an actual spoiler or not, but even your comment now (that there is disagreement) is itself a spoiler. All I can say is that everyone who has read the novels may not say, suggest, hint at, or in any way allude to anything that has yet to happen or be revealed (or confirm that other things will not happen). There have been a lot of posts in this thread over the last day or two that have been really borderline, and I'm annoyed at the show being gradually spoiled for me and other viewers.

It's really a problematic issue when there's no other outlet available for such stuff.

There is so "an other outlet" -- two of them in fact. There's a Light Novel thread and a Social Group. I've given plenty of warnings about this before too...

This anime thread is a place to discuss about what has happened in the anime. People who are hyped about the upcoming novel content and anticipate it being shown in the anime must go to the novel thread to discuss it.

I think all around the world, heads exploded over this episode. In a good way.

After reflecting for a bit - this is actually one clever episode. Sure, you have three new girls introduced into the mix, now making six girls all up when you include Kobato during Kodaka's time at home. But despite the fact this episode spends a fair amount of time introducing and developing those new girls, this episode actually belongs to Yozora.

Yozora is a bully - something she denies but it's there for everyone to see. Yozora coerces Maria, pokes fun at Sena, jokes continually at Kodaka, uses Yukimura for her own amusement at Kodaka's expense yet again. Yozora loves to dictate how people behave around her and getting a kick out of the results. Yozora is definitely a bully. So why has Yozora set up this club to make friends when she's really trying to control everyone thus far? Does Yozora have a twisted concept of friendship due to past events? She clearly had a good heart when she was young. What has caused Yozora to go sour and be anything but the friend she was to Kodaka in their youth? Yozora clearly cares about Kodaka, but if she's got any delusions of being with him or being proper friends with the others in the club, she's got to stop hiding behind her shell and be real. Ironic that the person who created the club is the one person who is failing to achieve the overall objective of the club - to make friends. Episode 3 set the foundations for friendship between Sena and Kodaka. You could argue some form of a basis of friendship also exists towards Kodaka for Yukimura and Rika, since they're at least trying. Yozora is way behind everyone in this regard and her jealousy is blatantly obvious. So it really begs the question - what caused Yozora to become so mean and kill her heart?

The concern for a lot of people was the introduction of these new characters in Episode 4 would detract from the main trio too much. Amazingly...that didn't happen! Maria's presence was brief, served as material for the relevant fan group and drifted out after serving her purpose. Yuki Igucha voices Maria with a childish, upstart nature but not an irritating one - which is somewhat admirable. Nozomi Yamamoto's sedate voicing of Yukimura is a complete opposite of her voicing of Rie from UN-GO and shows some depth for a newcomer. Yukimura reminds me of Hideyoshi from Baka to Test considerably, but Yukimura is more amusing in my opinion. Misato Fukuen utterly revels in voicing Rika, portraying her hot-blooded nature and the maniacal narration of the 'dirty manga' damn well. Honestly, 'mecha porn' - that is gold! They all get their moments and then some - they were worth remembering. Yet the episode goes to Yozora and some well-executed development. And you just wonder how it is one of the most outrageous, simple shows of the season is slaying most of the competition when it comes to character development? Good writing and pacing I guess. It's easy for secondary characters to steal the show sometimes. AIC had it happen in Ore no Imouto and they seem to have learnt their lesson. Let's hope they don't let it happen again and can give the three main characters continual development as they have done thus far.

I would never say Yozora is a bully.

She's just a bit harsher than your average girl

Believe me, if Yozora is a bully, then I'm a Yanki

What is clear is that despite Yozora's mean exterior, she does value friendship deep down - but never shows it. Hopefully we find out why.

I wouldn't call her a bully in the true sense, but Yozora is rather manipulative and enjoying how she can easily control others. At this point of the show, she is like one. Don't take this as me saying I dislike Yozora. I don't. I think she's a very effective character and likeable overall. But she has to start being honest with her feelings and she knows it. I hope that does happen because I'd like this show to end on a note where I want to remember Yozora as well as Sena. I'm not in the mood for another 'you have to hate character A in order to like character B' setup. This show has been able to have a likeable cast throughout and I hope it stays that way while making those characters grow. I care that much because for anything in this genre I've ever watched, this is by far the best cast for me.

wow, I wasn't expecting much, knowing that there's going to be some condensation, but Rika's voicing of the mecha porn made this much better than the soundless medium. . However, this also means the last few hilarious chapters of volume 1 may be skipped unless they change the setting of those chapters somewhat.

Now we know why the members have no friends, even more when they hang out with these newer 'weirdos'. Yozora is quite the manipulator though, and has put her skills to good use.

Given her vindictive attitude towards bullies in the past, it's likely she's had run ins with those in the past. Perhaps she failed to help others or they didn't appreciate it, causing her to reject other people, and being hostile is the only way she knows how to act.

I just want to thank Relentlessflame and others on doing their best deleting spoilers and keeping this thread on the road.

And for Yozora? Slapping a 10 year old (I think) child multiple times and forcing or tricking that child to do her every bidding? That's bullying. Comedy, but bullying. Might even be called an assault.

Episode 3:
Anyone saw the Mother Marry Altar(I think it was) in their chapel? I forgotwhat religion was it that has her or an angel on an altar instead of he cross.
