huh a comedic one then ?

Baka to test or seitokai no ichizon I guess ... But that's a bit random since I don't see any anime that increases intelligence.

There's no way an anime (or any kind of story of any format) can increase your intellingence, at best they can increase your awareness and knowledge.

To reduce stress, slice of life with comedy parts are probably the best.

I personally recommend:

Azumanga Daioh
Lucky Star
Minami-ke
School rumble
FMP Fumoffu

Oh some episodes might still make your cry, but not in a bad way, there's nothing really tragic that happens in them.

If you want something very very light try

Bottle Fairy
Sugar: a little snow fairy
Oh My Goddess

My Bride is a Mermaid- Mainly comedy, romance

Ouran High School Host Club- Mainly Comedy, romance

Tokyo Underground- Mainly Action, romance

I doubt any of these will make u cry, depressed because it will probably brighten your mood

I suggest Mushishi. It is calm, contemplative, and full of wisdom.
Kino no tabi might work too, though less calm.

Moshidora is the only one I can think of off-hand that fulfills all three requirements.

... Maybe The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya as well, all though most of the random math and science you learn in the books was cut from the anime. There is a little left in there I guess.

Aria the Animation and its sequels would reduce any stress. Or make you sleep at least, depends on your opinion on Slice-of-Life.

I would highly recommend Aria!

Aria in my eyes, is the best Anime! I love it, very calming and relaxing, there is nothing negative in it at all! Everything is so positive and happy!

Aww, but the ending is a little sad, made me cry a few times.
