After reading the last chapter and all the comments a thought struck me
Spoiler for About Haruhi:
what happened to her other "me"? seeing that there was another her from the alfa world, wouldn't that mean that she had to fuse like the rest thus sharing the memories from both worlds? I think that this event might led to the result of Haruhi discovering her powers leading to the collage-version that Kyon encounter
Thats what I suspect too. *le sigh* I wish the Epilogue was translated already so we could know.
It'll be out soon, but I hope they touch up on it, but they probably won't.
Spoiler for the timeskip:
Sorry to keep changing subjects, guys but I was wondering..um, I don't understand the real significance of going forward in time. By that, I mean, why did Kyon go forward in time and see the college Haruhi? I didn't really get it because I=dense.

Spoiler for response:
We don't really know the reason why he skips there. But we did collect on one thing and thats Haruhi knows about her powers.

Spoiler for question:
I must have missed something but where was it proven that Haruhi knows about her powers? The college scene? Maybe I'm just not putting the pieces together...

Spoiler for Epilogue:
Great point about the Haruhi fusing. I sneaked a peek at the Chinese translation of the epliogue, and despite my medicore Chinese, as far I as know, she hasn't noticed.

Spoiler for about question:
For what I understood, the Haruhi from the present doesn't know anything yet. But from the reaction she had on the college scene made me thought " wow she isn't as shock and exited as I thought she would be" and later on when Kyon is going back she smiles and said -see you later kyon-... which yet again made me surprise, more so because her smile was calm.
Why is she so calm? she just saw someone's past version right in-front of her, meaning he time traveled and her reaction is telling me "oh, it's kyon from the past. Ok." precisely because of this behavior I believe that collage-Haruhi knows at least some of true about .. well everything

Spoiler for fusing:
I think the only people who fused are Kyon and Koizumi, as they were the only ones who touched their other self.
But technically, their other self should still be there. This would be really confusing, since the timeline split for every human on the planet, so there should be a second person for everyone, right?
Well, Koizumi said he is from the Alpha timeline, so I thought the Beta selfs would just disappear if they don't touch their other self, since the true purpose of Yasumi's action was to overwrite the Beta timeline, right?
Maybe she deliberately only brought Kyon, Kyouko, Kuyoh, Koizumi and Fujiwara over from Beta. I have really no idea.

Spoiler for adding on:
Exactly! When she saw 2 Kyons in the same time plane, I expected her to freak out, but she smiled like she was sure of what happened and mouthed "See you later, Kyon." That's not a normal reaction for the Haruhi we know right now, so we can infer that she knows everything in the future.

Spoiler for response:
That is a good point...for some reason when I was translating it, I got the impression that that particular scene (where she mouths the words to him) may have been just a vision he was having as he was blacking out into the time slip (since he was describing how everything was getting black at that moment). But now that I think about it and more people have brought it up, it does make sense that it probably was her relatively unsurprised real reaction to seeing two Kyons. It'll certainly be interesting to see how that comes about in future novels =)

Spoiler:
My opinion. Kyon was unsure about what he wanted to do, but he always tried to maintain his timeline. Now he has seen himself and Haruhi in college together so he will have to study and try hard in order to maintain his timeline. In the last volume Haruhi was already starting to give him extra tutoring.
I was just confused when I read it. I was like "Why isn't she freaking out? Something's off here" but it never really hit me that she really knew until I read what you guys had to say xD Things just fly right by me.
Also, question...why are we using spoiler tags in a spoiler discussion thread?

Spoiler for response:
She was confused at first when she was like "Huh, how can you be there too?" but then I feel like Kyon was blacking out immediately after and we couldn't see what her initial confusion turned into - did she freak out after or, as is implied, she just became calm about it and said "See you later, Kyon"? That scene ends pretty abruptly so that's why I'm having trouble believing for sure that Haruhi knows about her powers at that point.
And I don't know why we're using spoiler tags...as a relative newcomer to the forums, I'm just doing it 'cause everyone else is and I don't want to get in trouble =P

Spoiler for I'm still gonna use spoiler tags :D:
Yeah, I remember she was pretty confused and he blacked out, and then saw her smiling and saying "see you later". The scene was kind of confusing for me, overall. Oh, well. I'm sure it'll be explained, just as the part in Disappearance where Kyon saves himself..in a way.

You know, by the way she treated him, I think they are
Hey, Haruhi's the best tutor - if she think it's important, it'll be on the exam for sure. If North High is heavy on the rote, this will be piece of cake No ideas what Japanese college exams are like though, but if Haruhi really wants it, Kyon will be off to Todai or whatever.

Spoiler for plus:
Very true, the scene ends abruptly and Kyon is being swallow by darkness so we can't really know what was really happening. But you could say that what gave me the initial feeling that something was off with Haruhi was the final lines of the paragraph: I could only see Haruhi mouthing words.
-----See you later, Kyon.
Haruhi Suzumiya's kind smile said that.
I don't know about you, but for me, to be able to give of a kind smile, you also have to give a soothing, relax and calm feeling. Which let me perplex and with my original question. Why is she so calm? I don't know, maybe it was Kyon's delusion, but then again he did jump one month into the future. Who says he didn't also jump a couple of years ahead during this time skip?
Technically Kyon did already, in Disappearance with Yuki. Part of Kyon's quality is that he doesn't treat Haruhi as anything other than a young girl. And that's really what Haruhi needed as a person of great power. It is lonely at the top.
