Your First Attempt at Anime

I'm actually fairly bad at drawing anime, but here is a painting I've done that I'm fairly proud of.

So, what was your first serious attempt at the anime style?

Here's my first attempt.
It was of Lynn Minmei from the Macross DYRL movie.
I sketched this with just a #2 pencil, all freehand, back in 1986.
Sorry about the dark shadow on the left, it's from the gutter (spine) of the art sketchbook I drew this in decades ago.

Mmm, interesting thread! I can't see the OP's painting atm because of a school Internet restriction but I shall look at it after school Gundamfan, nice work! It's very good for a first. As for my first, or one of them, at least...

Spoiler for back when I was obsessed with Hatake Kakashi:

Just copied stuff. I think my very first original drawing was of Soul from Soul Eater.

I don't think I did a very good job, but I decided to freehand that on MS Paint while using an image from the Bleach image thread as a reference. This is my first attempt at anime. First serious attempt at seriously drawing too, while we're on the subject. I've never taken a drawing class, although I did take a Painting course in high school.

I did Sawako from Kimi ni Todoke today in about 20 minutes. Done entirely in #2 pencil. I've always been pretty terrible at people. I'm much better at mecha and other technical stuff.
