That's exactly how I treat my books. Except for textbooks.

There seems to be two schools of thought regarding the treatment of books. Some people like to treat the book seemingly roughly, breaking the spine in, leaving the pages ruffled. However, they love their books. They take them everywhere they go. The book, to them, is comfortable, and easy to be around like an old friend, a trusted companion.

Others, such as myself, treat the book with respect by taking care of it as much as possible. They're our teachers, our histories, our entertainment, and escapes. They are revered.

I have about 500 books in my personal library.

Yes, those who treat their books roughly apparently have the belief that books are their lifelong companions and thus, can be treated like one of their buddies. It doesn't matter how torn and old the books are, it's the content that matters. So yes, I understand their reasoning and still respect them for it. It's purely assumption but something tells me that's how they view their books.

As for me, I treat books for similar reasons as you, albeit different in several aspects. For instance, I don't really look upon books as my teacher. Rather, each book holds a different world with its infinite knowledge and play upon words. It's simply beautiful, and yes, my escape from reality.

Even if I am buried alive under the books, it's a good way to die, no?

The arrival periods for buying stuff from the UK seems to be improving.

Edit: Ah, forgot this one too.

Went to visit California and my buddies took me to South Coast plaza in Costa Mesa. There were so many luxury stores in South Coast Plaza. After seeing roughly 3 LV stores, I finally decided to buy my LV wallet.

Bought these from the local Kinokuniya. It wasn't until I got home that I realised I skipped a volume of Higurashi (#8), drat.

I actually got unbelievably close to buying it but as I was entering my credit card details I realised I was looking at my keyboard for numbers

Mechanical switch keyboard. The switches are much more pleasant to type on than cheap membrane keyboards, and they also make a very satisfying "clacky" noise.

I have a different brand, and mine's wireless, but it still has Cherry MX Brown mechanical tact switches and it's smooth as glass. So pleasant to type on!
