Metro: Last Light

If you know and loved Metro 2033 like me, here's a real treat.

Quote:
“We want to keep everything that was great about the first game and that our fans loved,” Beynon explained. “We’re not going to westernize it or dumb it down. The design philosophy isn’t turn everything up to 11. We want to maintain and preserve that unique soul and spirit, that Eastern European perspective. We want this to appeal to the more cerebral gamer. We want it to be a more slow paced affair, and we’re going to preserve those moments of horror and exploration and the gameplay mechanics that reward the more investigative player.”

Good a thread for this great FPS/Horror game !
I remember how it was quite hard to fight the monsters & soldiers :O. My first play , i did the bad end lol.
To be on max for graphic , you need a great PC , my new PC can't even run it on full max.
So for this new one , it'll be the same

Aw that's a pity. I had to run it at 800x600 lowest settings. I just got my new custom built though, I can max everything out @ 1680x1050 and it's still playable!

Well i'm waiting for more news so... the game isn't popular here , yep "OVNI" games aren't very popular.Like "Cryostatsis" anyone ?
People tend to play more FPS like CoD , BF etc...

Anyway thanks for the trailer music i like it

Back in March, this gem came out, showcasing the gameplay in a swamp area. I especially love the small touches of detail, such as the spiders crawling around the map, the drops of rain on your visor (as well as the fact that you can wipe it off!) and the sheer size of some of the maps.

Can't believe this thread is almost 2 years old. I completely forgot about the release date after THQ went out, but it's only a week away! It certainly doesn't feel like I've been waiting that long, probably a good thing.

I'm really hoping for more exploration, like STALKER... Metro 1 felt linear and limited.

I heard somewhere, probably that video, that Last Light will have a lot more exploration topside. Some of the gameplay videos show the game as happening in the metro, but these are the first few missions, so I'm hoping that there will be a lot of open-world exploration

The ranger mode was already known when the game was still under THQ's control, so hardly anything new. Honestly if the VG-journalists really cared, they should have made people aware of it 5 months back. At the moment they seem to be catching onto shady business ideas a bit late, the game is being release soon...

I'll pass judgement after I try the game for myself. I typically play on normal to get through the game and then play on higher/lower difficulties after for amusement.

I think the point is that they are blatantly ripping off an entire mode of a game and charging it as DLC and forcing those players to preorder.

That's a pretty messed up scheme.

Preloading now via Steam at a steady 4.0 MB/s. However, I'll probably sleep before playing, lest I go to bed with the willies.

Out of curiosity, how many people here are intending on buying the game or have pre-ordered it?
