I have to say it is actually decent for me due to I love how they show classic magical girl elements. It reminded me of Doremi and Sailor Moon for some reason even though Doremi and Sailor Moon was executed better maybe it's just me liking the magical girl genre in general. To be honest I think it's better than some mainstream anime.

Nice job by Kisaragi to get the poketan's back. Was that Aoi's sister at the end?

Twin Angel 03 - The Dreaming Wild Girl, White Racer Angel

A bit of a pivotal episode here, with a new hero coming in and old villains leaving (via trapdoor). Though if this is their final show, they went out in a memorable way. I'm surprised Alex could hide that bar of soap near his junk. Those weren't very big swim trunks. Misty Knight, however, has style. Soapmaster he is. We're also getting our first hints at the big bad behind the scenes.

On the hero side - a girl with a white cat theme who throws bombs at people and is distantly related to one of the key players. Gotta be White Racer. Kurumi is very....Rie Kugimiya. Between her and Iori (and with Lotte and Aria last season), it's twice the Kugimiya for your viewing pleasure (definition variable). This week was mostly spent getting her acclimated to the team, but now that Cure Beat White Angel is here, she'll blend in soon enough.

I think next week has that cameo spoken of in the beginning of the thread.

Twin Angel 04 - Don't Download This Episode

Japan, I have a love/confusion relationship with you. This has been documented many times. But I don't take kindly to all of us nerds who upload things being presented as fat otaku. Some of us are skinny. And some of us are more casual nerds. Piracy encompasses a wide range of ages, body types and motivations. Ease up on the strawman arguments, please.

That aside, the show has a wonky slapstick charm to it. Such as the photography robbers displaying decency in refusing to photograph Kurumi, and Yoshio's mother. That wasn't just a figure of speech. Kurumi having Minko's face from yesterday's HSI on throughout the majority of the episode was amusing too. Nice job on her calling out Yayoi, though Yayoi was actually right about the information she wanted. Not that she knew.

The show's even developing a few running threads, with Saijou-sensei joining the villains not out of evil or insanity, but a simple need for work. Some replacement villains are needed after Salome and Alex went down the trapdoor to God Knows Where.

Also, Mirai Suenaga made a cameo appearance, as posted on the last page. No speaking parts, but she was fairly prominent.

Twin Angel 05 - The Warrior of Late Night Drama Action

The tone of this episode was bizarre, especially in comparison to the episodes that came before it. Sure, you had Heinojou in his Saijou-sensei drag (and he succeeded, too!) and Gendo Ikari poses in eerie blue lighting and teachers trying to take over the world with magical jewelry (that's two of them in the pachislo-based anime. First Date, now her.)

But the majority of the episode was focused around Saijou's increasingly desperate attempts at finding romance and falling in love with a man several years her senior who already had kids. Of course, that man was Toreda/Trader (nice alias, there) and his "daughters" are upcoming villains, but that didn't really dilute the tone of it. It wouldn't have felt out of place in a dorama. Not a bad episode, but the tone was unusual.

The last two episodes have insisted on focusing on characters and story-concepts that I don't really like all that much. I was having fun before then, but they're losing me now.

Ep 5 was really good; that bit o' drama/romance was refreshing.

Twin Angel 06 - The Legend of Kurumi Unabridged

When is a bear not a bear? When it's Yuito in a bear suit, of course. The episode was pretty cleverly plotted, actually. With Yuito being the catalyst that drove the rift in the team apart, and then together, and then really together. And Haruka gaining the ability to do a flaming fire kick is pretty awesome, I'll admit.

Next week: The Yuumajuu return! Sort of!

Episode... um... six. Yeah.

Stuff happened. Teacher's still a nutjob. Haruka and Kurumi got into a meaningless fight over a mistake, leading to a 'we need to get along to perform best as a team' episode (we've all seen those before, I'm certain), with a number of shout-outs to infamous training montages from other places (the only one I recognized for certain was from Karate Kid, but I know I've seen a few of the others elsewhere). In the end, all they managed was to help Yuito (Misty Knight) get out of the bear costume he'd been using for his part-time job and gotten stuck in, and then beat up a few mook-level robots. Aoi beat them to the punch by neatly shooting an arrow through an unarmored panel on the crazy teacher's mecha-bot-thing, causing it to explode (of course) and saving the day, subverting the traditional ending to this sort of story.

It started out kind of weak, and some of the stuff Misty Knight had the two do to try to learn teamwork was stupid, but things picked up towards the end.

^^ this show is actually fun to watch. Not as great as milky holmes, but it is nearly there.
Ep6 was just mindless fun.

Twin Angel 07 - JajaUMA Way to Go

It's not very often you can say that the climax of a story involves getting a giant salamander to throw up a boot. (Why only one boot? You'd think it would come as a set.) It does sort of remind me of Milky Holmes, now that I think about it. Both are JC Staff productions with magical heroines and a wonky sense of humor. Jokes such as the lake immediately turning into a tourist trap when Cherinese was discovered, and Saijou Black Carrier's "theming" with her mecha and attacks are taken to the point of absurdity. The episodes may not be doing too much out of the ordinary, but they're solidly written. And the running jokes of both the heroes and villains being aware of the city ordinances is amusing.

Next week: Beachward bound! But more importantly, Twin Phantom makes their debut!

Twin Angel 08 - The Enemy of Today May Be is Tomorrow's Friend

Kurumi might know it, but she's Twin Angel's trump card. With Twin Phantom on the scene, the girls have met their match. Someone who likes to use their fists and someone who likes to use a sword, a perfect contrast to their legs and bow. Though Kurumi can cover both long and short distances, and has a much wider variety of weaponry. She is the element Trader knows not of. Nobody expects Twin Angel to be three, after all.

The swimsuit session was exactly what one would expect. Aoi's chest is growing at an excitable rate. Twin Angel's trend of having their friends close and their enemies closer continues, with them befriending their new enemies before meeting them in battle. It looks like Twin Phantom are in a similar situation to the Gouraiger (there may be other examples like this, but my mind always goes to toku first) - told that their parents were killed by their enemy - while the one who told them actually did the trick.
