Episode 11 was for me the best episode of the series, and the one where I thought it had been worth watching the series so far just to get to this episode.

The series has been a sweet and light confection, with no real substance to it until this episode laid out how painfully hollow Miketsukami's life had been before he started writing those letters.

I was riveted to every moment, in a way I never had been before.

I thought she was great. Not knowing whose the voice was, I made a point of checking it in the credits. Loved the slight liquid edge on her voice, and its mobility. Something special. Not that I'm comparing them, but Ishihara Kaori also has a special something at the edge of her voice. More awkward and closer to breaking, but something similar.

I loved this episode, too. Now I see that the long tension and Miketsukami's artificiality through so many episodes was aimed to be broken here. I'm not sure this ep is up to all that weight (and wait), but it was excellent, anyway.

This ep is by far the best ep in the series at this point. It really reveals a lot about Soushi and why he acts the way he does. Totally love it. Now I wish they'd make the series longer, since things should start getting interesting from here on.

Where the hell in the manga did it say Kagerou wrote those letters?

Yes, he improved his handwriting. So he could play pranks on the other residents. The letters were still written by Soushi.

(if the scanlators managed to screw that up I'm going to strangle someone)

Everyone has pretty much said exactly what I was going to say: Best episode of the story. We all knew it was Miketsukami who wrote the letters but the way they developed his perspective in writing those letters and the context behind his actions was brilliant. The way that Rirchiyou had managed to touch Miketsukami's heart and the fact that she already knew Kagerou wasn't the one who wrote those letters was icing on the cake.

Nah, what we need is more Andre Gagnon in here.

After this episode I've been unable to get Comme au premier jour out of my head. Partly because I keep rewatching the scene it plays in, but also just because it's simply such a beautiful piece.

Here it is again, with a few notes about the characters:

Spoiler for Video:

I am legitimately surprised anyone outside of Canada even knows who Andre Gagnon is. Good choice, IxB!

ep 11
Awesome Episode is Awesome.

Really loved the Flash Backs, it showed a lot about Soushi and his past... kinda also showed why he's the way he is...

Like how he usually "acts" a nice, servant like... (here I thought it was just because it's his job or personality... turns out it was a fake identity mixed with his true self....)

I liked your video Raiga, its amazing how nearly the names and their yokais fit with their characters and actions. And I have to start listening to more Andre Gagnon.

This thread needs more images!
Spoiler for space:

On the manga thread I'm also posting fanart of chapter 18 and the later ones (which also needs more fanart, I could only find a couple of them)

@Arabesque It hasn't been specified but it could be...

BTW, in case you wondered these are the ages of the characters (don't know if it has been mentioned):
Ririchiyo, Karuta and Watanuki: 15
Soushi, Natsume and Kagerou: 22
Nobara: 21
Renshou: 17

Thanks for the info. BTW, do you have numbers for BD and DVD separately?
